Another post in which you offer ZERO DEFENSE of McCain. Instead you try and change the subject.

The fact that you have NO DEFENSE to offer of the candidate you support speaks volumes

I think we're all just ready to vote and move on from all of this nonsense. I have really tried to keep an open mind lately, but McCain is playing with fire and misleading everyone with a ploy of patriotism.

Both sides are finally realizing all of the stunts that have made up his campaign. And give it up with Palin already. Let her answer some unanticpated questions like any other interviewee. This is ridiculous.

I'm starting to get exasperated with this insanity.

Republicans screwing up the whole thing, McCain goes there and doesn't even attempt to lead his party, I'm sick of this.

If Americans don't get these morons out of office come November I might have to seriously reconsider my long term plans in this country.

Well, I'm very much against the original plan, but the deal looked like it might be something I could reluctantly swallow... oversight, less money, etc.

But as much as I hate the original plan, I'd vote for it a billion times before I would even consider the House Repubs/McCain proposal. Clearly they brought forward the most unpalatable proposal to Democrats to scuttle any deal and try to game the situation for political gain... and to help McCain hide Palin.

This is a sucky situation and I'm ready to tar and feather every pompous ass on Wall Street, but you can easily tell who's acting in bad faith here.

    So much for "country first."

The leadership of this nation has failed. Failed, hard.

Don't you see this is just another step toward progress.

You see if we have a deep deep recession we will have a lot of suffering and then people will be open to realizing that it was all caused by big government and regulations and taxation then they will see the light and they might just overthrow the yoke of big government once and for all. We will take great steps toward libertarianism or at least a pre New Deal American society.

Hard not to be disgusted with the state of partisanship in this country. If nothing gets passed, this will not be forgotten for a very long time.

I just checked my account and Countrywide is still taking my biweekly automatic mortgage payments. Contrary to warninings by Paulson and Barney Frank, even without a trillion dollar bailout tonight, the banks still have money to operate.

I take back my previous post in this thread. Now that I think about it, I suspect he had the House Repubs throw a tantrum on purpose (obviously), he'll make a big deal about staying in Washington to get things done instead of doing the debate, he'll then get the House Repubs to miraculously agree to the compromise on Saturday, claim credit, and then lobby to cancel the VP debate.

Why wouldn't CFC still take your money? It has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of America since early this year.

These fools are going to totally mess everything up and then blame it on everyone else just to gain political points.

The more I think about this, the more piss I am. Country first my butt. This is all political and to make something as serious as this is now political is well, dare I said, un-American at this point.

If McCain has quietly work with both parties to help get things done, then later take the credit for it, I would have love that. But to call the press and announce the world a suspension of his campaign, proposing delay to the debate so that he could come back and focus on this issue, he got to know that it would stir things up on both sides and turn the negotiation of the bailout, that until late yesterday, seems to be bipartisan, into partisan politics. Whatever his motives, he knows that and he went ahead with it. He's not blind and stupid to not know how political this would turn out.

I'm done with McCain. I voted for Bush in 2000. I've made my decision and will be voting for Obama.

FLASHBACK: In 2007, McCain Parachuted In ‘On The Last Day’ For Immigration Debate

This strategy of becoming engaged in Senate business at the last minute is not new for McCain. In May 2007, McCain had gone five straight weeks without casting a single vote on the Senate floor. On May 17, he returned to the Senate to participate in the immigration debate. At a bipartisan negotiating meeting, McCain began complaining that Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) was “raising petty objections” to a compromise immigration plan.

Cornyn responded by bristling that McCain was swooping in at the last minute and trying to take over:
