You know, the guy deserved it. He didn't answer a single question and he clearly didn't know the answer and was just spitting out talking points.

I don't think she was any more frustrated than any other journalist would have been and she kept her composure well.

The spokesperson actually made Palin look worse in this case.

He could have said that Palin's foreign policy experience was moot. He could have said that every leader takes the risk of exposing the personal lives of their loved one and that's part of the job. He could have tried to give intelligent answers.

What we are seeing is that the Republicans are going to stick to their talking points and not let good questions be asked....and if someone does get them in, they will smear the person and punish the network.

I think this strategy will back fire.

Why would you want someone to be a spokesman for you when he cant even answer the most obvious questions?

Palin with excessive baggage for VP.
Tucker, the clueless chap, for spokesman.

Mccain cant even get simple things right and we are to leave the country under him for next 4 years??

    Oh Hell No!!

I'm not much of a lingerie man, but I'd like to see Campbell decked out in a full bustier with high heels.... and pearls.

    aaahhh thats my guy.

I've been saddened by many comic's deaths, but none hit me harder than when Carlin died. He was a more outspoken and grouchy version of me.

    RIP George :(

Yeah I saw that Campbell admitted that after the fact...I'm glad the research was done to exonerate Palin...The McCain spokesman was simply caught off guard because he did state the duties of the Alaskan Guard decision maker in general,...to which Campbell (at that point got ugly) and stated "O no, you are wrong",...Everyone knows that those in charge of the National Guard inherit foreign policy possibilities and implementation...It was disgusting...But she is a real political threat....

Ya, name one thing she did as the commander of Alaska national guard that makes her qualified as commander in chief for the United States.

    Liberal Talking Point #1--
Governor Sarah Palin doesn't have enough experience to be McCain's VP.

Every time I hear the liberals whining about Palin not having enough experience I just laugh. I keep thinking of what my Mom said, "I can't believe they are saying this with a straight face."

Newt Gingrich is on a roll. First he came up with the extremely popular, "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" campaign. Now he does an awesome job of pointing out how Palin has more experience than Obama. I heard him talk about this on Hannity's radio show but he basically says similar things in the above video when he was on Fox. Take the time to watch it. Below I will try to list the points that he makes in the video.

Newt Gingrich's great case for Palin's experience:
First of all, Palin has 8 years of Executive experience as Mayor and Governor. Obama has none.

Second, she has 2 years of Military experience being in charge of Alaska's National Guard. Obama has none, and before you dismiss 2 years of being in charge of the National Guard, read the following:

"Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is."
Third, she has a diverse background of experience as a professional journalist, city council woman, Mayor, Governor and Mother of 5.

Fourth, she has gotten a lot done and has an incredible record for only being a Governor for 2 years. She has vetoed 300 spending proposals and has an 80% approval rating in Alaska.

Fifth, she knows what she thinks and is very articulate, attractive, passionate, idealistic and courageous. She has shown enormous courage with her oldest son going off to serve in the military and her youngest son having downs syndrome.

Sixth, she is a very competent person with a compelling story.

Seventh, she should never be underestimated. She defeated the incumbent when she ran for Mayor and she defeated the incumbent Republican Governor in the primary before going on to defeat the Democrat in the general election.

    FEAR THE PALIN!!!!!!!

    This is entirely false.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brandon-friedman/palin-as-commander-of-the_b_123098.html

Here's what the military commander of the Alaska national guard had to say:

Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard, considers Palin "extremely responsive and smart" and says she is in charge when it comes to in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters where the National Guard is the first responder.

But, in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, he said he and Palin play no role in national defense activities, even when they involve the Alaska National Guard. The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations.

Here's the Vermont governor on her role:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/madeleine-m-kunin/sarah-palin-is-no-command_b_123358.html

Let me tell you what a Governor who is commander-in-chief does -- or more accurately, does not do. She does not command.

I was commander-in-chief of the Vermont National Guard when I was governor of Vermont from 1985 to 1991. I flew in a helicopter when I visited the troops at Camp Drum where they were doing their summer training each year. I attended ceremonial events and had my picture taken with the troops, just like Governor Palin. That was it.

I had zero authority over the troops.

8 years?? That's seriously laughable when 6+ of that was as a mayor of a village. During the convention last night, they interviewed the mayor of Muskogee, OK. He was 19 YEARS OLD and Muskogee has 5-6 times as many people as the town that Palin was mayor of.

Anyone can become mayor of a tiny ass town if they try. I'm sorry but that isn't impressive at all and is FAR from presidential.

Yep...gotta love the drive-bys...and those fearing the Palin...

More on RESPONSIBILITIES and organized EXPERIENCE...SO MUCH, MUCH MORE than this Obama character...
    Alaska State Defense Force

The Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF) is the modern force which carries on the traditions inherited from the Alaska Territorial Guard founded during World War II. Although the original territorial guard was disbanded, the new State of Alaska enacted a militia statute and in 1984 the Alaska State Guard was formed, which was renamed in 1987 as the Alaska State Defense Force. In 2004 the name "49th Military Police Brigade (49th MP BDE)" was also adopted for it, but it is still officially known mainly as the Alaska State Defense Force. It is administered under the department of Veterans Affairs but headed by a commander who reports directly to the governor as its commander-in-chief. It is one of 25 state defense forces.

    Mission
The mission of the Alaska State Defense Force is to maintain an organized, trained military force, capable of timely and effective response to state emergencies, or, on other occasions deemed appropriate by the Governor, to provide military assistance to civil and military authorities in the preservation of life, property, and public safety.[1]

They are currently constituted in a cadre strength made up largely of Military Police units. The units operate with mostly state certified Constables under the police standards commission. The Unique things about this voluntary force made up of no less that 90% former military by statue. Include operations that have included federal agencies Like the US military, FBI, Department of homeland defense, ATF and local city and State agencies. The unit all wear the US army Uniform in accordance with the Army regulation AR 670-1.[2]

The Battalions below the Headquarters Element include a medical Detachment, water borne operators, and an aviation detachment.

The Force has its own academy in which individuals are brought up to State training standards to be Constables. The head Gear worn varies on mission requirements.

Unlike most of the state defense forces in the US the soldiers train and certify with firearms showing proficiency to carry firearms when activated.[3]

The unit missions to date have been varied from Winter Talon, Avalanche rescue, Kenai floods to the Big Lake fire. They have worked at the Iditarod restarts and some members have been detailed to work with the Rail Road police as well as local police departments.

    Government support
The ASDF is a prime example of an organization run according to its charter, but this is not the case in general among SDFs. Issues of funding, mission and the bearing of arms are listed among common complaints and stumbling blocks associated with unit effectiveness.[4]

    FEAR THE PALIN!...

The one thing I do like about Palin is her tough stance on Gun control.
