Thanks for the reply Brian. I'm going to stop bringing up my theory because I'm not ever going to post it. However, I'd like for you to believe that I completely agree with almost everything you said, save for some of the news outlet stuff, but that's for a different thread.
Excellent post BK, simply hit the nail on the head on every count, good to have a voice of reason around here.
No kidding, BK. You give excellent reasons why we don't see more of folks like you and Jeff and Will and Clutch (anyone with the least interest knows just who he is in "real life") It really explains a lot. Having said that, I wish you guys would post anyway.
Hey BK, interesting post. I know that we would get into debates/arguments a lot but I don't remember either of us getting too nasty and certainly not personal. Perhaps I am incorrect, but that is the feeling I have. Maybe it is because I am a republican? Mostly, though, I just remember your "liberal" use of bolded words. Regardless, such exchanges could not happen anymore on this bbs.
Funny you wrote this because this is something I used to make fun of conservative posters doing. Not going to argue who does it more, but agree that's its sort of pointless.
(*gasp*) rimmy, edit this while you can! Good god man, don't you want to be an elitist faculty member someday? Loose lips sink professorships!
Good stuff, BK. I really don't do a lot of straight partisan-like posting because, as you said, it appears most people are more concerned about their view than they are about being honest. What is truly a struggle for me is the real animosity that seems to have developed over money, ideology and religion. There seems to be zero tolerance for people on any issue. If you are poor, you must be stupid, lazy or both. If you are rich, you must be an uncaring, SUV-driving, insensitive jerk. If you are liberal, you are a whiny, naive wuss. If you are conservative, you are a mean, cold-hearted b*stard. It is frustrating for me because I do believe that most genuine problems are largely ignored for the benefit of some other agenda and that agenda usually involves money, ideology and/or religion - even if that agenda doesn't solve the problem, completely ignores a legitimate solution or, worse yet, creates a whole new set of problems in the process.
