You know having your head partially chopped off has to hurt a hell of a lot more than having your head fully chopped off.

I did reach for it, but went with my instinct. :) I'll make up for it......

Michael: What are you guys laughing at?
Pam: Oh, nothing, you had to have been there.
Michael: Oh a geographical joke, okay.

    and my favorite character...
Creed: I'm not offended by homosexuality. In the 60's I made love to many, many women - often outdoors, in the mud and the rain... and it's possible a man slipped in. There'd be no way of knowing.

Creed: That is "Northern Lights". Cannabis indica.
    Dwight: [sighs] No, it's mar1juana.

The story I saw earlier today said the guy was "partially decapitated".

Could be he wasn't lunging so much as trying to ru8n away from the guy with the freakin' samurai sword.

I will say this: legally, the student was in the right to defend his property. Morally, however, I must admit I'd have trouble killing someone over material possesions. Unless the guy had a weapon that I could clearly see, it seems to me a less mortal wound would have accomplished the goal of getting this guy to leave your house and never come back. Not saying the burglar was right, or that the kid was wrong. I'm jus' sayin...

Question: From a Legal Stand Point - It is ok to have a SHARPENED Samurai Sword? I thought there was something about needing a license for anything over 6 inches or something.

Probably do need a license, don't know really. I have two but never considered whether they need to be licensed.

Carry one? I seriously doubt you can carry a 30in blade, sheathed or unsheathed. Heck, I'm thinking about pulling my swords off the mantel and giving them a nice clean edge.

Choosing not to own a gun, I'm going to seriously consider this as a form of home security.

I don't think you need a license to have a sharp sword in your domicile.....

The lunging part is funny...everyone questioning why a guy would lunge? Heck, the idiot made the decision to rob.....first....which is a wacked decision to begin with, so if you are already a WACK JOB...then who are we to say what a wack job would lunge at?

I can imagine a bunch of folx taking their decorative swords off the wall and sharpening them up now.
