Yeah, DM's not a genius for getting Asik an offersheet that to quote Ford "Drove a mach truck through the current CBA loopholes". Any GM could have realized that loophole and offered that sheet to Asik. Just like how West is not a genius, anybody could have convinced Shaq to come to LA, and trade Divac for Kobe. Riley, a genius? C'mon, anybody could have helped Wade convince Lebron and Bosh to play together, genius? What about the Nelsons drafting Dirk and Nash in the same year? Whoa nelly. Let's step back from the ledge and not compare Morey offering a poison pill contract to Asik with West getting Shaq, the Nelsons getting Dirk and Nash, etc.
So Morey is exploiting a loophole in the Gilbert Arenas Rule. What are the chances our offer sheet is deemed invalid due to basketball reasons?
LOL but he's right, any team could have signed Omer to that contract. lets see what happens this season with Asik as the starter. If he flops then we can add this to another long line of his mishaps
