John Henson - 17 pts - 25 boards - 7 blocks. Henson was my pick at 14. I wanted him but never thought he would drop to 14. I like T Jones but you can't teach length. Not a big deal. We would have traded him for Harden and Harden was more than worth it. Still I wonder why we pass on height every year. I thought Meyers Leonard would be ther at 14 if we were lucky and John Henson would be gone by 12. It was the other way around. Lamb is good too but he is Rudy gay lite good IMO.

I really don't think Morey is that great of a drafter in the 1st round. He manages to find gems, but his 1st round picks are not that great. Yeah Lamb got us Harden, but chances of that happening were like 10%.

Did you see Tobias Harris's and Nikola Vueivic stat lines tonight?

    Vucevic stat line:
    30 Pts, 20 REB, 5 assists, 2 blocks

    Harris's stat line:
    30 Pts, 19 REB, and 5 assists

And they both did this against Larry Sanders and Henson, who had a career night.

Even though the Magic suck right now, their future seems pretty bright.

Impressive. Vucevic in particular has been pretty good this season.

Add Drummond's 29 pts, 11 rebounds to the list.

i don't remember why Henson dropped. did he have character questions? i remember him being considered a mid lotto pick / top 10 and then he dropped. crazy, in hindsight

I think it was mostly just the depth of that draft and teams above him drafting for need. He's looked good in his very limited minutes, I think he will end up being pretty solid.

oh actually he was picked 14th, so he only dropped some 5-7 spots which isn't really a drop, just a normal fluctuation. I thought he was 19th.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    no.

Vucevic, I like. Harris ( and Moe Harkless who has also been talked about as some super prospect) are basically the equivalent of Terrence Williams. Someone has to throw up 20 points a game, even on the **** teams.

Drummond is going to be just as good if not better than Howard. Vucevic similar to Asik except you lose some defense but gain a lot offensively. Sanders reminds me of Deke except of course their body types are different. It will be interesting to see if Sanders can put on some weight and maintain it.

Why does Morey always gun for tweener forwards and never goes for length and the raw physical freaks?

Lulwhat? It's still bad value for giving up the best center in the league in his prime. Look at their cap situation, they actually got bad contracts instead of shedding it. Sure Harris and Vucevic look nice but they aren't exactly playing on a tough team. DmO and Tjones would put up similar numbers if Mchale gave them all the minutes they could handle every night.

Back on topic though, I feel your pain. Henson was IMHO the best big man available to us pre-draft, he wasn't that athletic but he had length and the bball IQ necessary to utilize it to its fullest potential, and I was really mad we weren't able to grab him by trading our picks to the Bucks after we got Lamb. Anyway it all worked out.

I like Henson, but Lamb has a ton of potential. We could only pick one of them at #12 and I think Lamb was a good choice. If we traded up it would have been for Drummond, so we obviously were gunning for star potential.
