John Harris @jharrisfootball 1h I'm out at YSR/1560. Just got notice. Appreciate y'all and hope to see/talk to y'all soon. John sounds like what real sports radio should sound like in a football town, I'm stumped.
Never really listenened to him (have heard he's a good football mind) but I wouldn't mind if he caught on with 790 so Jay Mohr can GTFO.
maybe 610 will fire Lopez and put Sean and John back together J.R. give us any scoops about how or why this happened, I loved The War Room, and I didn't understand Sean going to 610 to work with the worst co-host in Houston Sports.
Sorry, got nothing. Maybe HMW. I'm just waiting for the news to drop on Granato. He's the one left, right? Either going all national(which they kinda already are) or turn out the lights, it's over. No, 1560 isn't really going to fold up shop but they're pretty much irrelevant in Houston sports radio, probably even more so now.
Maybe it's because radio is a dying medium and having an internet based, national audience is the future. But that bug killing guy will not benefit from a national ad. Raheel remembers 1560: http://truefanview.com/2013/04/27/from-the-nosebleeds-episode-5/
http://blog.chron.com/sportsupdate/2013/12/john-harris-is-out-at-kgow/ Harris said David Gow, whose company owns KGOW and KFNC (97.5 FM), told him the decision not to retain him “was ratings and revenue, which is the scorecard in the radio business.”

Was that mattj paired with Sean Salisbury? If so, my condolences to Matt. I'm sure it beats unemployment, but I can't imagine by much.
My guess is they moved Salisbury to pm drive time just so they wouldn't have to change the letterhead.
I actually saw Sean Salisbury at Jakes yesterday watching football... I like him on the radio myself...
The brief intro I just heard with him and Granato made it sound like they were going to be a "national" show. More in line with becoming an on-line nationwide station with less emphasis on over-the-air local stuff. Frankly I can't think of a more "local" guy than Granato.

I hope Johnny Harris stays true to his takes and doesn't just fall in-line with CPOD/Texans propaganda. Let's go put the film on, bro!
