When I think of manufactured candidates I think of people like MTG, Lauren Boebert, H. Walker, and Dr. Oz actually.
This is weird. I don't think anyone would suggest Fetterman, recovering from a stroke, should be President. He would have to at least temporarily step aside and let the VP take over. Fortunately, Senators have strokes and recover while being a Senator all the time - several just in the last few years. Some take several months away from office. That's the difference between being part of a legislative body where you don't make life-or-death decisions on the fly and being President.
I have no doubt there will be shenanigans in parts of PA, particularly Phila. after the debacle in 2000, FL fixed it's election system, and now can report results almost immediately. #ThanksJeb.
You do know that Republicans are the ones that put in place the PA law that prevent quick counting of votes, right? Very specifically, they don't allow early votes to be processed until much later than other states, which is what causes the delay. This was covered in 2020. This is also why Dem votes tended to come in later since Trump railed against early and mail voting. What is the relevance here? Do you not comment on any elections outside of where you live?
FL changed their elections to count mail in and now early votes ahead of time most states are against that. In fact many of those on the right are against counting those votes early fearing it would skew Election Day turnout.
I thought you were smart enough to know that regardless of where one lives, a senator's vote affects them. You do know that - right?
Yeap. I recall a Republican Senator suffering from a stroke. Took some time off. Came back and was welcomed back by the Senate (Dem included). He ran for re-election again and won. Can't remember the name but it was during the Obama admin.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) suffered a stroke--spending a week to recover---he is now back to work. Senators Who Have Had Strokes and returned to work Say John Fetterman Can Do The Job
Mark Kirk was the Republican . He had one in 2012. He came back ,but didn't win Re-election in 2016. Tim Johnson was a D. He had one in 2007 and won in 2008.
it's interesting to watch y'all rag on HW for his (perceived) lack of mental acuity, yet are near unanimous that Fetterman's lack of same is NBD. if the roles were reversed, you'd be decrying racism.
I never care about his lack of mental acuity (I did accuse him of possibly pretending to be stupid and playing the 'i m stupid' card) no, if the roles were reversed, HW wouldn't stand chance DEM don't approve of outright liar and domestic abuser Fetterman can't compete on those levels
Words from the mouth of a man too cowardly to even stand up to Trump after he talked so nasty about his wife. Words from a coward who fled the state when the freeze hit Texas. His vile behavior knows no bounds. Cruz is such a creepy weasel. How is this lying traitor still even practicing law after the insurrection? He's such a sorry representative for our state.
This is ridiculous. Fetterman is liberal politician that suffered a stroke and has at a minimum a short term disability. It's fair to wonder how his health will be long term. Walker is a self-proclaimed mentally ill individual who lacks basic knowledge, has a history of domestic violence and either makes up vast chunks of his life story or has split personalities that live out various fantasies that he can't distinguish from real life. It isn't like Fetterman is up there having false memories because of his stroke, he's having communication difficulties. He isn't pulling toy badges to say he's a cop, claiming he served in the military, graduated when he didn't, went to a school he never attended, etc. etc. Feel however you want about each one, but they aren't the same situations.
Fetterman doesn't have a problem with mental acuity - he has a (temporary) problem with auditory processing.
NY Times pitchbot: between Democrats nominating someone who struggles to process sounds due to a stroke and Republicans nominating a bipolar schizophrenic who tried to kill his wife and thinks he's a cop, both parties are struggling to find the sharpest tools in the shed.
Let's assume it is permanent and he has a difficult time verbalizing his position. Does that disqualify him? If so, why?
Theoretically even if it is permanent it doesn't impact his mental acuity, just his ability to process speech essentially. So he will suck in a debate, struggle in a conversation, but can think perfectly fine.
