Imagine questioning Fetterman's cognitive ability then acting like Hershel Walker is fit to work at a McDonalds much less the U.S. Senate.

Would it be fair to say, that in your opinion, had Fetterman not suffered a stroke, that his education and previous political experience qualified him as a candidate?

Or is there something else about him that makes him inadequate?

Suffering from expressive aphasia does not make you stupid.

I'm amazed at how many people do not comprehend this.

On paper, his CV looks decent enough. Aside from his impairment, I find him "weird", watched some pre-stroke videos and he looked, dressed and talked like a bum. But I will admit that I don't know a whole lot about him.

Just from the outside looking in, both he and his opposing candidate didn't seem great.

But then, which politicians are. The last one I thought was really a game changer/inspired people was Obama.

A lot of conservative are really threatened by Fetterman, so I can understand how some would try to smear Fetterman by linking him to Walker. Weak

Was he trotted out? It seems to me like he wanted to run. I'm sure the stroke and the recovery are pretty hard on him, and running a high-stress campaign to get a high-stress job is probably not ideal for recovery. But, I'm also sure if he didn't run this year he was unlikely to ever get to the Senate. So he chose to do the hard thing and run. And it worked. If some party insiders pressured him into running despite his stroke, I don't know about it. But, when it comes to the voter, here is a guy asking for your vote when maybe it's not the best thing for his life and another guy who is an obvious fraud being promoted by an even bigger fraud. Is the voter supposed to vote to let a snake-oil salesman (almost literally) into the halls of power to spare the stroke survivor from doing something he wants to do but that might be suboptimal for his health? He wasn't trotted out. He chose to run because he wants to be Senator despite the obstacles. And he was elected because, among the candidates offered to voters, he was the best.

'I got a stroke, so I know.' Sorry for your stroke but given the wide range of impact from a stroke (almost nothing to paralysis), your experience should not be generalized and assumed to apply to Fetterman.

'left winger pushed him (to run)'. His wife gave an interview and said they decided as a family for him to run for the Senate. She said they make these decisions as a family because running for office doesn't just impact him but the whole family, including their young kids. Once he had the stroke, it was clearly up to him and his family to decide if they want to continue to run. Anything contrary to that should be presented with actual evidence.

Lots of people have strokes and don't quit their careers. It's their choice.

Would you rather have someone who isn't feeling well being a Senator for your state or someone endorsed by Trump?

Typical GOP half truths. Don’t you have balloon shootings to criticize?

Feb 10 (Reuters) - U.S. Senator John Fetterman was discharged from George Washington University Hospital on Friday, his staff said, two days after he was admitted to the Washington, D.C., facility because he was feeling lightheaded.

Fetterman, 53, suffered a stroke last year. Tests showed he did not suffer a second stroke during the latest incident, the hospital said.

"In addition to the CT, CTA, and MRI tests ruling out a stroke, his EEG test results came back normal, with no evidence of seizures," the senator's office said in a written statement. "John is looking forward to spending some time with his family and returning to the Senate on Monday.”

Fetterman Checks In to Hospital for Treatment of Clinical Depression

WASHINGTON — Senator John Fetterman, Democrat of Pennsylvania, who was hospitalized last week after feeling lightheaded, checked himself in to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Wednesday night to receive treatment for clinical depression, his office said on Thursday.

The decision to seek psychiatric help underscored the profound challenges, both physical and emotional, that Mr. Fetterman has been dealing with since entering the Senate last month after a life-threatening stroke last year, a transition that has been made vastly more difficult by the strains of his recovery.

“While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks,” Adam Jentleson, his chief of staff, said in a statement. He said that Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the attending physician of Congress, had evaluated Mr. Fetterman on Monday and recommended he be admitted to Walter Reed for treatment for clinical depression.

“John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis,” Mr. Jentleson said.

His decision to do so could place Mr. Fetterman — who was dogged by questions about his health and fitness to serve in the Senate throughout his campaign — at the center of a national conversation about mental health struggles that has become more public and urgent since the pandemic began.

Special offer: Subscribe for $1 a week for the first year.

For now, aides said, the primary focus is on his recovery. It is not yet clear how long Mr. Fetterman, 53, will stay at Walter Reed, though aides anticipate it will be longer than a few days.

Damn. If true, especially the $1 a week subscription, I hope he has a speedy recovery. Takes a real man to admit he has depression.
