Thanks for the info - interesting.

Well, I'd be supportive of a Clutchfans member if that member came out.

Quoted for great truth. I lived in Montrose for quite awhile, and would love to move back some day.

Question - Is the Southern Baptest thing really that strong in Texas?

Why would the Rockets assign a mother-daughter team for John? Heck, no wonder Yao brought his own "cultural acclimation" squad with him. I have nothing against Baptists per say, but BOY, John must have been roasting in his "lunches" with them. It's unfortunate that matters of sexuality can't be openly revealed without public rebuke. Alternatilvey, wouldn't it be easier in finding and assigning a city host knowing such info - to make the player/or visitor feel more comfortable and all? e.g. Single dude or dudette assigned to a single dude? Family assigned to a family dude? Gay couple assigned to a gay dude? Anyone except T. Hardaway.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but isn't quoting a book some sort of copy right infringement?

I don't want the site getting in any trouble......I believe you can paraphrase but not copy it outright.

If that were the case, then every single time someone quoted an article from a website on here, wouldn't it be copyright infringement too?

I think it is fine to quote a book as long as you credit the source properly.

I think once it is on the web and you can put up the link it is ok....but if it is in a book and not published for the WWW to see without buying the book, I believe it is a copyright violation.

I could be wrong though....not really sure.

lol I saw an episode of Will and Grace where some small town hicks were desparate for gay people to move in so they could get a Starbucks and raise their property values.

This is a little hard for me to believe that people can read only one book in their lifetime. How would learn to read in the first place? What about "Fun with Dick and Jane" or "Green Eggs and Ham". I'm going to assume he meant books from other religions.

I'm pretty sure he had a penthouse over in the 3333 Allen Pkwy building (Allen Pkwy @ Waugh) when he was playing with us. I used to live around the corner from there.

Boki liked the whole Montrose/Museum district too when he was here... he lived in the high rise apts on Montrose @ Banks.

Is Amaechi the same guy that a very large percentage of the board always referred to as "manboobs?" Perspective changes, doesn't it?

What's your point? The guy had/has manboobs. He and Phil Mickelson should create a "Bro" together. It's got nothing to do with anything related to talking about his book, his time with the Rockets, and his life.

it's almost as if professional basketball was a side job for Amaechi...

wasnt he working on a Masters or a doctorate degree? his moonlighting job just happened to be in the NBA...

he's too smart and articulate for the NBA... the league needs more like him

The problem with some smart guys in the NBA is that smart guys have more interests don't always focus on basketball as much. Smart guys also know that they don't need to be that great or work that hard to make millions, especially after they got that guarnateed contract.

Think about it, if you have $10 million or $40 million guaranteed money, it's smart to not bust your ass.
