Now all the guys that thought he was the second coming of Hakeem have something to get excited about http://www.sacbee.com/2010/03/29/2641517/kings-evans-expected-to-return.html#mi_rss=Kings/NBA After practicing Monday afternoon in Indianapolis without experiencing any effects from his recent concussion, Kings rookie guard Tyreke Evans is expected to play Tuesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Evans has missed the Kings' past five games after suffering a concussion and cuts to his gums March 19 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Evans will wear a protective mouth guard against the Pacers to protect his jaw. Evans will be joined by rookie forward Jon Brockman, who has not played since Feb. 17 with a knee injury. Center Spencer Hawes is also expected to play after missing Sunday's game in Cleveland with a lower back strain. Francisco Garcia (wrist) and Sean May (knee) are not expected to play Tuesday against the Pacers. The team also announced Monday that swingman Dominic McGuire has a torn right plantar fascia and will miss the remainder of the season. After McGuire suffered his injury Sunday in Cleveland, the Kings were down to just eight players against the Cavaliers. Still, the team played well before losing 97-90 against the team with the best record in the NBA. Evans will be a welcomed return for the Kings. The NBA Rookie of the Year candidate is averaging 20.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. After practice Monday, coach Paul Westphal said the team has waived forward Joey Dorsey.
Hey, we can get Dorsey back! Sweet! He can sit on the bench next to Hilton Armstrong, behind Jordan Hill.
Who else thinks there was a wink-wink deal between Rox and Kings so we could get Dorsey back, ala Big Z and Cavs? Too bad the season is almost over. Otherwise we could move higher in the draft if we get Dorsey back...
maybe with gasol out they sign him but he wouldnt see much playing time there either if all their big guys are heathly but no team can sign him now for the playoffs so he is probably stuck in no mans land till the off season unless a non-playoff team signs him for the last 2 weeks. i mean seriously what a low move there is 2 weeks left just let him stay unless he did something to piss the team off
I seriously would not mind bringing him back, given our injury issues in the frontcourt. But I get the feeling his behind-the-scenes attitude and work ethic are at play. It'll sucks if he's another "doesn't ever get it" guy that could've been a stud.
