    Don't agree.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IuvicmG_zgk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IuvicmG_zgk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

There seems to be this myth going around this board that Dorsey was a non-factor his rookie year because of lack of size. Not so. He could have been a 7-footer, but if he had the same injury and poor mental approach in dealing with the injury he'd have been no more a factor for us.

33 vertical for a 6.6+ with 265lbs is very athletic.

Tell Kobe to jump that high with 60 lbs more.

Just look at Artest he can't jump with all that mass.

    Yes he is very athletic.

Dorsey's shooting range would make Dwight Howard look like Dirk Nowitski.

At least he didn't get any technicals off the bench.

Having a good standing reach, long arms and a strong body/athleticism all will help. That doesn't mean that his shortcomings can't be exploited. Taller players can look and shoot over him when he is out on the perimeter. They will also go at him when he is near the basket in order to get to the line and put him in foul trouble.

That's what the GM said. Did not respond well to his injury. Didn't put in the proper work to get through it.

Durvasa,Sam Hinkie said they need a replacement for Deke.He said particularly different players then that we have. We can't expect Dorsey to make a quantum jump even if he changes his attitude either.

Except Yao has a shorter wingspan than people his height should have.

Well Dorsey missed a golden opportunity last season.

He might not have gotten the minutes he wanted right off the bat, but had he had a better mental approach, he'd of gotten a good chance to show what he could have done during the season.

I know a lot of these NBA players think they are the best players in the world, because what seperates an NBA bench player and an NBA all-star could be as simple as 1% confidence or 1% something else.

Dorsey must get it through his noggin that Adelman knows best. If Adelman tests him, he better be prepared to pass Adelmans trials. Because, last season Adelman showed no faith in Dorsey at all. And I know Dorsey had his injury, but even after the injury was over, Adelman went elsewhere on the roster instead of looking Dorsey's way.

our beloved Charley Rosen on Joey Dorsey:
    http://foxsports.foxnews.com/nba/story/9035948/Magic's-big-man-key-against-Atlanta
But let's turn the argument upside down and list (!) in alphabetic order the worst players in the NBA.

It should be noted, however, that all of these guys are far superior to just about every player who participates at some lesser level of competition. Some of the players listed below are young and developing, some have never developed, some have limited specialties, and many of them are 7-footers.

JOEY DORSEY (Rockets) is strong, tough and willing enough, but his lack of sophisticated skills makes him unable to earn much playing time. Perhaps if he was 7-feet tall instead of 6-9, and his shoulder were squared off instead of sloping (to increase his reach), Dorsey might have a viable future in the NBA.
