This completely sucks donkey. Remember how Joey officiated Game 2 with the Blazers, calling every ticky-tack touch foul for the first two quarters, until the paint was completely opened up for Roy, and he was able to go off for 42 points. Kobe gets 50 tonight, minimum. Congratulations, NBA. You are guaranteed more Lakers games.
My prediction (and I sure hope I am wrong): Yao with 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes. Joey Havaseatyao Crawford
Crawford reffed game 2 against Portland too. This is what Stern does to even out series. He sends an crowd influenced ref to call a must win game for the home team. Expect lots of questionable calls early to "clean up" the game. I also expect the FT discrepancy to be huge until very late in the game where they may try to even it up so that it doesn't look biased.
The NBA's getting more sophisticated since the Lakers-Kings debacle in 2002 in terms of getting the games to go a certain way. They're not going to make it so obvious, but if you pay attention the Lakers are going to get the important ones. I think we'll see more blocking fouls when Kobe goes to the basket, Yao's going to get assaulted, and Aaron Brooks will be coughing the ball up when the Laker bigs beat his ass with no foul if he comes to the paint. Btw, Bennett Salvatore, another notorious company man, is reffing the Orlando-Boston game. The NBA is amazing.
Whoever's compiling ref stats needs to collect numbers on how games turn out depending on the series. As in what happens in Game 2 after a game 1 loss, or game 3 when the series is 2-0, etc. I think the NBA's bias is toward having longer series, especially if they're big market teams. I think reffing in Game 7's for instance, or in the NBA Finals, has been fair. It's the shenanigans before hand that are ****ed up.
I would like to know our record with Joey Crawford this season, especially the Home-Away split. The other thing I'd like to know is Yao's average game foul count for Joey Crawford officiated games vs. his average foul count with the rest of the games without Joey Crawford officiating. JOEY CRAWFORD HAS NO BUSINESS OFFICIATING GAMES IN THE NBA.
well, if I got it right, Joe officiated Game 1 in Dallas in that 2005 series, Both Yao and Ryan Bowen fouled out but we won. Dan officiated that Game 2 Then it was Game 2 in Portland this year... Whistled everything in the first 5 minutes, then done whistling anything and Yao was taken out of game by Pryzbilla and Oden.. Dan was on Game 5 this year Again, we fans can say and do anything, Hopefully the Rockets do nothing but fight. bottom line is We can win on the road, even when Joe Crawford was officiating Whom I dislike most is a guy looking like Al-Pacino's dry skull, with oily bright hair dragged hard towards the back of head, anybody know that guy's name?
I wonder which official replied "Your English is poor" when Yao was complaining... They said if you shout something refs taken as any foreign language curse, it will be an automatic T?
If the Lakers needed a win against the Rockets wouldn't that lady referee ref the game?? She loves blowing her whistle against the Rockets everytime she is managing the game.
I won't get mad until each of the following happens: 1) Yao gets 2 touch fouls which influence his minutes played 2) Yao gets murdered trying to get position with no fouls called 3) Kobe gets to the free throw line more than 6 times before the first half 4) Aaron brooks gets called for random 2 fouls 4 minutes into the game
OH yeah thats true I forgot. You have to have a certain amount of experience to ref in a playoff game.
