Yea thats what I was wondering. I couldn't remember the rules since they adjusted them to prevent the hack a shack. If a team is in the penalty and a foul occurs away from the ball, does the ball handler shoot the free throws or does the guy that got fouled shoot them. I'm pretty confident Grant Hill should have been shooting those free throws. Crawford was just making sure the Suns advanced
Is anyone honestly surprised? This is so typical. NBA refs and the league's continual refusal to do anything about their utter suckitude have pretty much ruined the NBA.
the thing that sucks about it all is that Stern won't do anything about, if, after he sees the call. Before we know it, NBA will have challenges on calls, like the NFL. At least some type of system close to that, since some of these refs make blatantly horrible calls.
Crawford is absolutely the worst referee in any sport, ever. Isn't he also the ref who refused to shake hands with Clyde before a game, and then ejected Clyde with 2 phantom technicals? Aside from getting rid of Crawford, the easiest and best thing the NBA can do is add more refs to the game. 4 or 5 refs per game, each with the ability to overrule each other and/or review plays.
No, that was Jake O'Donnell. He never refereed another game in the league after that playoff game against Phoenix.
That one was pretty good for Joey actually. He is a terrible ref. The foul on billups cracks me up. He knocked Wade over and called a foul on billups! Seriously?
wow, there is absolutely no way he could ever watch this clip and justify this call. the ball shouldve been taken out on the side, but since he didnt wanna look like an idiot he blew the whistle on billups infront of a home crowd. thats absolutely terrible, but pretty dang funny

Being an NBA ref is like getting tenure. This guy could reach the height of senility and Stern will still wait for him to retire.

You hear it a lot by announcers. I think it's widely accepted that he's one of the best refs besides his quick temper. http://www.nba.com/news/crawford_070417.html
Joey Crawford is everything that is wrong with the NBA. I used to be one of the biggest fans, now I'm a Rockets fan and thats it. Watching videos like posted above piss me off to no end. I don't see how Stern can sit back and do nothing. Any ref you know by name in any sport is going to be a bad one and Joey Crawford is probably the most famous ref in America.
Another stupid call by Joey Crawford, why did he ejected Kenyon Martin? Do you got any info about what happened before this? or just because crawford doesnt like Kenyon? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wMbeofvM1L0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wMbeofvM1L0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
