i mean yeah the lakers shot 32.5% overall, 20% from behind the arc, and 68% from the free throw line while getting 20 more free throw attempts than the celtics while the celtics shot 40% overall, 38% from behind the arc, and 88% from the free throw line. but the c's didn't crash the boards so it is what it is. the refs swallowed thier whistles at the beginning and started calling the game more tight down the stretch but the lakers just adjusted better. congrats to the lakers.
Gotta love the cliche its all the refs fault threads. No Joey Crawford is not the reason the Celtics lost tonight. Want something to blame? How about Ray Allen only showing up for one game the entire series. How about Paul Pierce having a mediocre series. The Celtics window has closed.
Not nearly as moronic in the holy grail of Rocket blunders as to not even know where the ROCKETS started as a franchise. Since we all know that if it isn't 90's Rocket related, or if you happen to be a fan of the Rockets after the Hakeem era, then you iznt ol skoolz enough for Tinny.
The problem with the refs is exactly this. They call the game one way for a while and then suddenly switch gears. The big name refs like Crawford and Bavetta are the masters of this. Why do they do this? The game was actually really good for three quarters-- two physical teams going at it. Then the 4th was just a bunch of lame touch fouls, and the problem is that is it is so open to interpretation. I personally though that the C's got hosed a lot, especially at the end, but I'm biased so it's fine if you want to disagree with me. I am more annoyed that the refs had to ruin a perfectly good game by changing it up down the stretch. That 4th quarter was a snoozefest. The Lakers only hit six FGs the entire quarter and managed to win it by eight. Now that shouldn't ever happen.
It's alright? I said, HE can... That doesn't mean he will... And again, this is a completely different thread with a different topic involving a REFEREE, not a PLAYER.
Wo, I'm really surprised by the votes. Quit blaming the refs it's getting ridiculous. There were BS calls both ways all series long.
Exactly. Changing the way the game is called in the final quarter tells me that Stern wants the Lakers to win.
im neutral on the subject. the game was gritty and tough. two teams clawing a scrapping to break free. i loved it. shame the refs had to get more involved in the 4th but it is what it is. congrats to the lakers.
The Finals uses a pool of 12 refs so in a 7-game series the most any ref should do is 2. Joey did 3. The Lakers are invincible at home when he is on the crew, perhaps coincidence, but I think not.
I think the Lakers may well have won it if they had kept calling it the same way since they had some momentum going into the 4th. However, it was just a shame how it had to end. And I don't understand why it was called that way. It's not like there were a lot of physical altercations.
b****es gon be b****es. Even the b****es knew they were gonna complain if LA won in any conceivable fashion. No crystal ball necessary.
And answered by Allen, Rondo, and Wallace. The Celtics actually hit more FGs in the 4th than the Lakers. The FTs really didn't allow either side to bring out the heroes.
There is NO logical reason why Stern would favor the Lakers over the Spurs. THERE IS a reason why he would want it go 7, but once it has, there is NONE...NO reason why he'd want the Lakers to win over the Celtics. All the revenue has been made, everyone is a established star in this series, there is no reason why he would.
