Karma for tanking. Maybe they'll be more willing to take on Asik now.

Shame, too. Kid had all-star potential. Lots of talent there.

He already had back issues before this foot injury, now the cavs will definitely pick him!

I wonder if he'll fall so far in the draft that we might have to decide whether to gamble on him.

Unless the leg is amputated, no way he is there at 25.

Actually I think this news hurts the Rockets chances of trading Asik to Philadelphia. By next week Philly will have plenty of time to study the medical records and they will probably take a shot on Embiid believing he is too much value to pass up even if injured(similar to Noel situation last year). If philly gets Embiid to to go alongside of Noel then there's no reason for them to take on Asik.

As a Kansas fan...this is saddening. Hope he isn't the next Greg Oden.

Damn. Very sad, he looked great as a prospect.

lol, what if Utah gets him and he makes a comeback, that would suck.

Really I hope he makes a comeback from this though if it's possible. I wonder what players have had something like this and stayed healthy successfully?

Embid is a very good looking Center prospect, the durability scares me some but this is not like the NFL where missing on a QB prospect sets the team back for multiple seasons. In the NBA draft if you're bad and you miss on a prospect or he flops for physical reasons, you right back at the top the next year with another chance to take a guy who could turn the franchise around. Really, if you're bad in the NBA, it's like getting your shot a different potential franchise QB each and every year.

Embid is impressive, as fluid a center prospect as I have seen, since Duncan maybe.

Stress fracture in his foot? I wouldn't use a top-10 pick on him. We've seen it before and know how much it screws up a team. Even if he gets in a few years of dominant play, just the uncertainty of when his body will break down on you will be costly. You don't want to build your strategy around a shaky piece like that. Maybe you take a third-star gamble with him where you can afford to take the loss if his foot breaks again.
