People rag on stromile, but I just looked at his time with the rockets. The man ONLY had 3 games of over 30 minutes and in those games he averaged

    20 pts

    10.67 rebounds

    ~2 blks a game

too bad he was another boneheaded player and van gundy hated that

I think that Stromile Swift's career in the league is over.

i didnt mind stromile however i think the contract we gave him was kinda above what he was worth at the time...

didnt help that van gundy didnt want players who didnt defend as well.... and was bad that it was the injury plagued season... oh well hope stro finds a good home in phoenix and gets better mentally...

I would only have to say this: If he's given a chance to play for the rest of this season, he really will need to make the most of whatever opportunity he gets. If not, then no one in the league will want him next season and beyond. IMO, he's been too much of a bust in the league for his whole career for anyone to ever have aspirations of picking him up any more.

As a basketball player, Stromile Swift is a worthless piece of garbage who didn't improve one iota after joining the NBA. Blaming JVG for any of his problems is just stupid. You may as well blame every coach he ever had because they didn't get any more out of Stro than JVG did. He hit his career averages as a Rocket, including minutes played.

Small sample size. For those three games only he must not have played like an idiot. For the rest of the season he had plenty of mistakes in limited minutes. He's sucked everywhere else anyway.

I always thought Stromile would have fit in much better with what Adelman was trying to do instead of Van Gundy. Not to mention he never really got to play much with both Yao and Tmac that year.

To play well in Adelman's system one needs to have a brain...

if anything with yao and tmac out he should have gotten more PT and have inflated stats but he doesnt.

the guy has all the natual bball talent in the world, he just lacks the drive and ethic once he made it into the league.

i mean he had a decent jumper, decent post moves, all world athleticism, he actually was a pretty good passer too.

i wonder if he works out in phoenix though would be interesting to see

Stromile is the PF version of Steve Francis. Dumb athletic losers who never tried to learn how to get better.
