I think they only showed the "Let's make out version" on Friday night during the National Championship game, at least thats what Rich and Charlie said last night.

Since this Joe Millionaire is already filmed, where are these women now? I want to see what they have to say.

The women undoubtedly signed a non-disclosure agreement preventing them from saying anything until the show is over. I'm sure they'll be on Letterman the week after the show ends

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Fast National ratings for Monday, Jan. 6, 2002

While CBS still managed to win every hour of primetime and take Monday night in households with a 10.8 rating/16 share, FOX's new reality experiment "Joe Millionaire" gave it some serious competition in the nine o'clock hour. For the night, FOX came in second with an 8.7/13, followed by NBC, 8.0/12; The WB, 5.5/8; ABC, 4.5/7 and UPN, 3.1/4

    Among adults 18-49, FOX led the charge with a 7.0, followed by CBS' 5.8, NBC's 5.3 and ABC's 2.7.

They have been called gold diggers and marketed as women who are interested only in a romance accompanied by riches.
But Lambertville’s Zora Andrich, who is one of the 20 women vying for the heart of "Joe Millionaire" on Fox Television’s newest reality show with a twist, says that is absolutely not true.

"I’m pretty secure in who I am and I’m far from a gold digger," Andrich said last night. "Any of my friends could attest to that."

Andrich said her friends have been very supportive of her appearance on "Joe Millionaire," which debuted last night on Fox. And she added the people who know her think she’s anything but money-hungry.

"They think it’s hilarious," the 29-year-old Rutgers graduate said of her friends. "I live a very, very modest life."

Andrich graduated from Rutgers in 1997 with degrees in sociology and theater. She’s lived in Lambertville since then and worked as a personal care aid for the elderly.

Yesterday, Andrich and her friends went into New York City to watch the first episode of "Joe Millionaire." She said she met up with two of the show’s other female contestants to watch it.

"All the girls are corresponding, we’re all in touch," Andrich said. "I think that we’ve all really matured throughout the whole experience."

Because of her agreement with Fox, Andrich could not talk about the show yesterday and will only be able to divulge minimal details until the show is over in seven weeks. But she did say she had a great time doing it.

Andrich explained that the show’s creators actually called her this summer and asked if she wanted to be on "Joe Millionaire."The producers had her name through a different show she had tried out for and put her through a lengthy interview process before offering her a spot on the new mini-series.

"Joe Millionaire" takes place at a chateau in France. The show is based on a simple premise, what’s more important -- love or money?

The women involved are led to believe they are courting a good-looking man worth $50 million. Throughout their time together, they try to win the heart of 28-year-old Joe, whose real name is Evan Marriott.

Marriott takes the women on horseback rides, to dinners at the Eiffel Tower and gives them expensive gifts, all to help build up his rich persona.

It’s not until the end, after he’s chosen his love, that the women find out Marriott earns only $19,000 a year as a construction worker.

Andrich is one of two Jersey girls on the show, the other is from North Caldwell. Some of the other contestants come from New York City, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Dayton, Fla., Hollywood, Calif. and Nashville, Tenn.

Fox reps declined to comment on the show yesterday, though their website dubs "Joe Millionaire" as the "ultimate fantasy setting." The TV network hopes the hour-long show, which was thought up by the creators of "Temptation Island," will be a hit every Monday in its 9 p.m. timeslot, as does Andrich.

"I think the show is definitely worth watching, if for nothing else because it offers a twist. It offers something different, a different message," Andrich said.

The Lambertville resident said she plans to watch each episode.

Even before its premiere, "Joe Millionaire" got a lot of attention on the Internet and from the media. People have been posting messages on websites and taking guesses about how it will end.

Some think there will be a surprise even bigger than the one being advertised -- mainly that Marriott really does have millions and he’s just lying to get rid of the shallow women.

Others are pulling for their favorite contestants and Andrich is one of them.

"She seems like a woman with a lot of class," one person wrote on joe-millionaire-fan-forum.com.

Another added, "I think out of all these women (her and Marriott) look the most compatible. By looks, she’s a very pretty woman. I think she may be our winner."

    Here's a question...

Who is the target audience for this show. I thought it was single males ages 18-49, who want to see women revealed for the gold diggers they think they truly are...

But I've heard whispers that FOX actually intended this to be a show targeted towards the ladies, where they can talk **** about the women in a catty way.

I found that to be startling. I didn't think most women would like the idea of the show at all. Thats similar to making a show where they take a transvestite and line up 20 guys to marry shim (assuming they make shim look drop dead gorgeous somehow) and expecting guys to watch it.

On the other hand, I probably would watch that show just to laugh at the men.

Wait, I think I have an idea for a new show for FOX! Quick, someone get me Rupert Murdoch's phone number!

    drapg,

They already have that show, it is called 2% of COPS episodes. The drunken, shirtless guy is told by the COPS that the prostitute he just got busted with is a man.

    13/16.

I'd watch it for the 'b****ing about other people' factor, myself. That's why I watch all reality TV.

Dammit, I wish it was here already. We haven't even finished the first series of The Bachelor yet!

I know a lot women who are talking about it today. They were rooting for the quiet girlz who didn't fight over the dresses. I think most them liked the guy because he was a regular dude.

I didn't see it. but I want to.

I think they should have found a real average joe. This guy looks much better than average. It would have been funnier to see women flirt with a guy they are physically repulsed by just for the $$$.

and no I'm not gay, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I bet the guy could find hotter women as a $19,000 construction worker than the 20 chosen by FOX.

Yes, if only he wasn't shy and intimidated by women.

by the way, for the people that watched the show... When the guy was being tested on what wines go with what meat, what on earth was that one french sounding meat that the Butler quizzed him on and he said "What's that?"

I am Tiger Woo... err, Joe Millionaire.

Did you see the one girl who said "I'm going to be making out with him tonight."

I was like, b*tch, you haven't even seen him yet.

Oh dear God. I'm turning into one of those black women in the Jerry Springer audience.
