We need games late in the season where we can rest Harden, Capela, Ariza, and Paul. You need a big and a wing and expand the rotation minutes throughout the season. Green helps immensely but you never have enough healthy wings and especially ones that can create for themselves. EGo, Green, Luc, and to a lesser degree Ariza are all decent cutters. You can't always shoot 3s. Tucker is really the only one of those that has to be fed and he mostly fills the 4/5 and corner 3. Having more independent offensive oriented players helps spacing and the effectiveness of the PnR. We usually play well at the start of games and sometimes to half because we are in the rhythm of the offense spreading the ball. It gets stagnant in the 2nd half settling for 3s and especially with the 2nd unit. We always revert to a spread iso game to a degree and it helps to have a player that flourishes in the system and can shore up weaknesses and play D.
JJ’s numbers look bad in Utah bc he has no one to create for him, especially at his age. JJ has always been a great set shooter and eventually developed his ISO game. I think he will do wonders back in MDA’s system where he will have CP and Harden create for him.
Of course he can fit here. We can always use more playmakers. And the minutes will be there once we get rid of Anderson.
Joe will be bought out from my understanding. I'm a fan, but I don't know if I see him meshing a team like the Rockets. He's a good guy either way.
Iso joe is so inefficient. Let him go to GSW. So he kills the clock and slows the game. And shoots 20 times for 20 points
He was hurt for a large part of this season. If you want stats look at his numbers in the PO against LA last season, incredible.
Defenders help off Rubio, so if JJ isn't moving around much, Rubio essentially looks off JJ. Mitchell is a beast, so I think the Jazz are trying to make him more of a focal point. JJ just isn't a fit, with the current Jazz. WIth the Rockets, he literally has to be a lesser version of Trevor Ariza. Play some defense, and stand in the corner to receive the pass from Harden/CP3. Easy. I think some posters underestimate JJ's worth. "Tired legs" is bad, but we're not asking JJ to be the 2nd option on offense. Hell, he probably won't even be the 4th or 5th option. But he's a guy that can open up the floor, much like a Ryno, for Harden and CP3 to operate. CP3 / Harden / Ariza / Ryno / Capela Gordon / Tucker / JJ / LMAM / Nene Green / Black That's a disgusting team. For the rest of the league to deal with.
Is Sacramento just going to buy him out? I can't imagine how Joe would be happy there if he wasn't happy in Utah.
So Joe Johnson, Vince Carter, and Zach Randolph are on the same team? That would have been a pretty good squad back in 04 LOL.
