The thread's talking about trading brooks to get JJ. How can you even say its all about skills alone? We certainly can't trade JJ and Brook's skills only! As for the OP isn't there a random thread trade? You don't even know how the salary would match or what kind of deal we have to do to get both JJ and Bosh. More importantly, I don't believe DM is really pursuing JJ. If simple analysis can already he's overpaid and performed miserably during the playoffs every single year, what more DM's more advanced sabremetrics?
We need to upgrade our talent whenever we can. Joe Johnson is an upgrade over KM. I personally don't feel that starting SG is not a position that we need to upgrade, but Johnson is an upgrade there, nevertheless. The Rox would not go after Johnson to help bring Bosh is Bosh not coming would make the Johnson acquisition a bad move by itself. I.e., if they do go after Johnson, it is because they think it is a good move on its own. I see a couple of things that might make this particularly attractive: 1) It could be that Llull will come now, or in a year, if we trade AB away (maybe for Johnson). Assuming AB gets us an upgrade at SG, this adds to our talent. 2) Maybe Joe Johnson looks like a more likely deal. I.e., it could be that none of the PF/backup C upgrades are available at a decent cost, but Joe Johnson is.
JJ or AB, I'd take JJ, but to trade KMart to get JJ, HELL NO!!!! KMart's FT% is no joke, he and Yao could share duty taking technical freebies this upcoming season. I like KMart's willingness to drive to the basket.
If it take Joe Johnson to get Bosh...then Bosh is not very smart and don't know talents because K. Mart is one of the most lethal and efficient player in the league...why would u have problem with playing with him. Maybe that explain why he doensn't understand what it means to play with Yao and a presence inside the paint. Look at Lakers...their BIGS were the reason they won the Championship...no question about it. You can say all you want about Kobe, but without their big dominating and getting rebounds...they would not have won the Championship. So with that said, why would you want to go to the HEAT or Bulls knowing you don't have someone inside to nullify what the Lakers does. I don't think with him and Noah is good enough...and the same with Heat...they don't have anybody that can compete. Yao is the probably the only ONE that can dominate the Lakers inside or at least make his presence felt.
