this. But I'd do it in a heartbeat. It would be kind of funny though. Joe Johnson, the underachieving player that can turn it on when he wants to and remind you how good he is. Playing for the Houston Rockets, the underachieving team who can turn it on when they want to and remind you how good they can be :(:(:(

On the one hand, yes, of course you get him if he's cheap. Why not? He's not great, but what's wrong with having another guy who can score (even if it's relatively inefficiently)?

On the other hand, no, he doesn't really provide what we need.

So in conclusion, I don't know.

he has to want to come here first... if he does, sign him up for cheap.. we could really use another spark before trade deadline this season.

I doubt JJ gets bought out. JJ just needs to play a couple more months, collect his FULL salary and then is a FA. He still has game and will be able to get a decent deal in FA this summer playing for a contender. He doesn't have to rush out and forfeit money now.

I think the question is if he does get brought out, would he be interested in us.

looking at on how we treated jsmooth and the whole "issue", i doubt JJ would like to be here. Besides, he has better options and chance to get a ring.

Actually the REAL question is: Do you really think he's going to be good for long? He's 34, and will turn 35 late June. His style of play obviously doesn't rely on athleticism but everybody hits that brick wall at some point.

There's no reason for him to lose his money and agree to a buyout. Absolutely no reason. JJ is not someone who ever game priority to title over money. Next year he will be able to see if he can join a team (cavs) to go for one ring if he wants. Lebron really wants him afterall.

Yup, my position as well. No reason to forfeit the money. Play a couple of months, collect the money, go into FA and pick a team.

    How is Joe's defense nowadays?

He's averaging 34.6 min/game this season and shooting very poorly.

If his minutes were reduced to ~20 min, his game likely improves across the board.

And he is 34, will be 35 this year. He mainly play SF this season and it shows us he already lost his quickness.
