Also news is that the cosch and GM were fired today.

If they can't move johnson [which would be hard with his insane contract] they prolly will buy him out considering he's going to leave anyway and playoff hopes are dead

Should we and try and pick up johnson?.

Personally I'm a fan of joe Johnson. He's a legit good player that can play like a superstar but isn't always consistent on the star status. He was overpaid no doubt but his scoring ability is top notch.

For the right price hell even a decent one year contract would be a great pick up.

Not sure where he would fit in but if we get rid of brewer [we are] joe Johnson could easily slip in the SF spot from time to time and also back up SG.

This would be another Josh smith signing except a lot more talent.

    What is everyone's thoughts

Corey Brewer and or Thorton would have to go. Personally I think Thorton has a much better shooting touch than Johnson... Interesting player though

No. And no. Rockets are not a Joe Johnson away from getting better.

If bought out, he'll have better options than Houston.

There also not getting better with the current roster. You have to add players either through signings or trades to get better

He won't fit with Harden unless he plays the SF position.

I realize he'll be sought after by many teams. This was just a thought. Joe Johnson isnt a saving grace but on the right team he could be a major role player if not a solid sixth man.

Isn't a valid arguement. If you go by that logic then nobody cN fit with harden and we can never upgrade our bench.

need more defense or competent go to scorers. ariza cant be playing 35-40mpg, he's not a superstar. he needs a competent backup or someone to split mintues with. jj aint that guy. can he even move his old ass legs on defense? at least harden takes a step or two

Regardless of this year, even at his age, Joe Johnson can still drop 20 on any given night.

I think he's disinterested with the season, but he put 16-10 on us to help the Nets get their first win of the season.

Ah, I was thinking of him as a starter - you are correct, he could be our backup at SG/SF.....but at this point, Thornton is more dynamic.

Johnson could help this team greatly. If he were bought out however, he would never come here. He would goto a contender.

Will fit right in with his 32% 3pt shooting, we need more volume chuckers.

We are all forgetting that we're not a team that mid season FA vets want to latch onto anymore. I think he'd have way better options than us, although I'd love to replace Brewer with Johnson in our rotation.
