The Suns best regular seasons came in Johnson's last year with them, when they went 62-20. They were 1st in ORtg, 1st in Pace. But they were 17th in DRtg. And lost to the Spurs 4-1 in the WCF. The Spurs were 8th in ORtg that year but 1st in DRtg and finished the season 59-23... before going on to win the tile in 7 against the Pistons. Honestly, as much as I'v expressed my hesitation and confusion about how the pairing can work and be maximized.... I think we're ultimately, big picture, once again failing to address the obvious - defense and rebounding. CP3 is a defensive improvement for sure. PG13 or Millsap would be a defensive improvement again... Depending on what the Spurs do this offseason, the Rockets can definitely slot into the #2 spot in the West/NBA. But getting above the Spurs requires a lot more roster work. They'll need that 3rd star that plays both ways. They'll need Nene to resign and stay healthy. They'll need another younger version of Nene. Depending on who they lost to get the above they'll need to bulk up their bench.
Harden and Paul are far, far better than JJ and Nash, individually and collectively, for what it's worth
Breh if Eric Gordon could play like 2011 Jason Terry who owned LeBron, that would be sick for us. Hell, I wish Jason Terry as a Rocket played like 2011 Jason Terry for us.
Raja Bell is underrated here..... Raja Bell! JJ Redick, he is a specialist. I dun expect much in terms of Defense.
