Much more likely that the Astros were used as the Olver North to insulate the other teams. Getting rid of Luhnow may have been a petty add on by people that don't like him, but this was more about protecting MLB than anything else.
Dusty seemed to have no issues with all his players doing roids, not sure why this would be different. No manager did anything about it since every team was doing it.
What's the idea behind that? Pretending dusty didn't know all his guys were juicing? Not sure how it's different
The odds that nobody was doing it in the clubhouse all those years is 0 or very close to 0, so Dusty had no issue at all with his players cheating for years. Not sure he would've had an issue with sign stealing, since it's also pretty likely a team he managed at some point did that as well.
Yeah I think he would. Dusty was territorial about his job. He wouldn't allow the bench coach and a player to take over like that. Especially if it were something that could bring him down. Managers weren’t ever gonna pay any price for rampant steroid use by the players. It was made known by MLB that sign stealing through the use of video technology would be pinned on the organization and managers. This is why I think Dusty would’ve cleaned that **** up. Also, Hinch didn’t even have the balls to shut it down during the season in 2017, when it was clear it wasn’t working.
Couldn’t disagree more but it doesn’t matter. If hinch managed a team not named the Astros nothing would’ve happened to him, as we know nothing happened to all the managers involved in this type of “cheating”
Just like how Dusty didn't allow Bonds to roid up? Dusty's biggest achievement is making sure Kent didn't kill Bonds or vice versa.
Just like how McGwire had andro and other stuff in his locker... LaRussa saw something... I suspect Dusty also saw such goods in Barry's.
How's it ridiculous? How many managers got suspended for their teams stealing signs? You can dislike hinch but you can't change history
Dusty was also indirectly connected to the cocaine busts in the 80s... so I really doubt he even cared. And... he's probably too old to even know how technology works, so he would have been "whatever" and never saw the electronic memo.
I don’t dislike Hinch. He just got caught, I get it. He was there before it started and let a bench coach and a player influence him and it cost him his job. Lunhow was no saint in all of this as he was clearly involved too. The anti-Houston conspiracy theories are childish though.
Are you trying to say you don’t think other teams were doing the exact same thing? That’s just insane
