@MojoMan how old are you? Gas is still cheap compared to the spike in the 2000s and if oil goes up then we just go domestic again. Fuel costs are supply and demand and right now we have more demand because pandemic is winding down.

and inflation has been an issue since the start of the pandemic.

Are you going to blame your failed relationships on Biden as well?

It's only been four months....Why aren't these whiners bragging about their stock gains at ATH?

That's the only measure of success amirite?

you need to lift ur head out of the sand; it is ignorant to convenient assume that we can just flip the switch on to get the vaccine

How a decade of coronavirus research paved way for
    COVID-19 vaccines

“All that work we did over the last decade has laid the groundwork for our current generation of COVID-19 vaccines,” said Dr. Hotez,
adding that “the vaccines for Operation Warp Speed build on our research, and my colleagues’ research over the last decade,
showing how we can deliver the spike protein—it’s a 10-year R&D program just like any other vaccine.”

The Big One? The Supreme Court Accepts Case That Could Deliver A Lethal Blow To Roe

    https://jonathanturley.org/2021/05/...case-that-could-deliver-a-lethal-blow-to-roe/

    excerpt:

None of that bodes well for pro-choice advocates who strongly opposed acceptance of this case. The White House seems to be preparing for the worst-case scenario. In response to the acceptance of Dobbs, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said: “The president is committed to codifying Roe, regardless of the … outcome of this case.” In other words, Biden wants to make Roe controlling by federal legislative rather than constitutional authority.

It was a telling and ironic response. Roe was deemed a great victory because it removed abortion rights from legislative discretion by making it a constitutional imperative. Now, Biden is planning to snatch away any legislative discretion given back to the states by preempting state laws on abortion. Before Roe, abortion was viewed as a core state issue that left policies to the voters of each state. The Biden administration would effectively seize any legislative discretion and federalize abortion law.

It is a signature move for the Biden administration, which is becoming the most hostile to state’s rights in modern history. President Biden has shown little patience with states adopting opposing policies in a variety of areas.

For example, in the COVID-19 relief bill, states were given billions of federal dollars with a key, unprecedented catch: They had to promise not to cut taxes, even if the windfall of federal money left them with more money than they needed.

Biden seeks to negate another Supreme Court decision through legislation: In 2018, the court delivered a blow to unions when it ruled that government employees could decline to pay union dues — so Biden wants to preempt states’ right-to-work laws. While Congress has long passed major labor laws, the Pro-Act would effectively take away the ability of states to make choices in this area.

Then there is HR 1, a bill that would effectively federalize elections, including negating state identification law, redistricting rules and a host of other limitations.

In a widening array of areas, the Biden administration would achieve a national consensus by imposing a federal mandate on states. Some of the administration’s expansive claims already are being challenged and could ultimately reach a Supreme Court with a majority of pro-federalism justices. However, the effort to supplant states on abortion could prove the most difficult to sell to justices, if they use Dobbs to return some discretion back to the states.

There are obvious limits to the pro-choice values of the Biden administration: They clearly do not extend to state autonomy or authority. When it comes to the right to choose on key policies — from elections to unions to taxes to climate change to abortion — states would have fewer and fewer choices to make. They are left with the same freedom that automaker Henry Ford gave every customer: to choose any color of his Model T “so long as it is black.” In the next two years, many states are likely to object that they have been left with a type of Model T federalism in which they are free to choose any option — so long as it is Biden’s.

I don't understand conservatives' critique of Biden on the gas runs (I know why they're doing it, but it doesn't make sense). A private company got hacked and people behaved irrationally. I didn't blame Trump at all when there were gas runs in Austin after Harvey. It was morons behaving stupidly that created a feedback loop of panic.

That's the market, baby. Bow down and worship the bad times like you do the good.

I seriously don't remember when was the last time the Parkland school activists got the attention of the mainstream mass media. It probably was years ago. That doesn't mean they don't have media attention. There are still plenty of them, but not by the usual mainstream media outlets. I think the mass media mostly ignored these kids, and all other kids, and mass shooting in general once the stories died down. That includes under Trump, Obama, Bush, and now Biden. GG makes it sound like the media suddenly changed course as related to the Parkland school activists because Biden is president. I don't think that's true at all and I think GG has some very personal issues with the mainstream media that color him this way.

There was a clip where someone asked Biden about Palestine while he was in Ford's Electric truck. He made a joke about running that reporter over and said he was gonna drive off.

Half a minute of uncomfortable silence later, he drove off then the reporters laughed on cue...

So there is some legit back rubbing by journalists who were largely cut off from WH access (sans leaks or marketing ops) and put all their chips in w/ Biden.

I also think Biden deserves at least half a year to untangle wtf he's gonna do w/ everything else not already in place.

These activists complaining are acting like there isn't a queue or that the media is ignorant that the queue exists (trillions in aid money needed to get passed, some immigration here, some foreign policy there).

Ofc everyone knows the first year is much easier to get **** passed, but it seems like these activists don't realize they're not that special when they start bitching about their situation.

Wouldn't the Democrats have legislation tee'd up ready to go in case Biden won the Presidency? I haven't seen much movement on some of the bigger issues such as education reform/student loan forgiveness, health care, gun reform etc etc. The Democrats control the House, Senate and White House, if not now, when?

There's an evenly split Senate with the filibuster still intact if you haven't noticed.

I did not see that at all in that clip and it was not a half minute of uncomfortable silence and the reporters laughed after he said he was kidding.

It was not the time or place for that question and Biden should not have been joking but I don't see how that proves anything.

There is back rubbing for every president and his staff to get access but I don't see how that interaction proves anything.

I will agree that there definitely is a que and some people are bitching because they don't have a place in line.

Do you think every Democrat is in agreement on how to go about fixing this stuff?

Or that everybody would be in lockstep with Pelosi if she just had legislation ready?

Who would have written this legislation that you think would have been done?

And why do you think student loan forgiveness would pass with Democrats?

House already passed two bills. Not a chance in the Senate until filibuster is removed or Senate Republicans somehow someway decided to listen to the American people.

ps. the first bill (closing background check loopholes) has > 80% support, including > 70% of Republican (and 8 Republican crossed over to vote for it in the House).
