I'm with you buddy except I'm in middle Tennessee and it has been tough sledding for me. Been out of work since the 25th of January but I am hoping that things will look up for me soon. Hang in there although I know it is not easy.

Individualized cover letter + resume to every bank in Houston. I am sure you'd get a job in less than a month if you're qualified.

A better approach, in my opinion, is to find a contact who works there to submit this on your behalf. The shotgun approach rarely works -- best to have a personal connection involved.

It may help others if you told them what type of position you're looking for.

I thought he was fairly clear. Either a job at a bank, or a job at any companies hiring.

Not very clear at all. So what you're saying is any position will do at a Bank, Janitor to CEO? Any company will do as long as they are hiring, Dominoes to Microsoft?

If you're qualified at all Houston offers plenty of jobs with the presence of Big Oil.

If you're not qualified - It's almost summer, maybe you can lifeguard.

Go to the U of H or Rice Career Services sites, look at their career fair or campus recruiting lists to see who's hiring. I would also specifically recommend AccountPros down there, they were pretty good at getting entry level stuff.

Amegy (formerly SW Bank of TX), and Sterling Bank were always looking for Credit Analysts right out of school with both Intermediate I and II.

Thank you all of y'all for helping.

Sorry for not making it clear, but i wanted a teller position.
I am a server right now, but as of now i am just wanting to try something new. Something that is HANDS on.

I would not mind helping an accountant or a real estate agent, just something business wise because that is what i am pursuing as my major.

Should of went to the UH-Houston Job Fair. Lots of them there. I've had 3 call backs, and an interview. Although, I'm not ready to move down there yet. Not till December so I had to decline, but was told to contact them in Oct. :)

All about getting your name out there, and start handing out those resumes.
