No, no, no, it has to come naturally -- you can't just stick it in your sig to give him a Triple Crown. He has to earn it the hard way like everyone else.
Hi Guys, Just to close on a very positive note. Very much back on the saddle. And before Christmas! Really lucked out again and made sure I crossed my eyes and dotted my t's. To all who gave me encouraging words, THANK YOU. It was a rough 10 weeks full of errors you can only learn from.
I found out today that there is a HR job (and maybe even another) that is available and I feel it is a very good fit for me. It would be a lateral transfer (so I don't think I would be getting much of a raise assuming I get it), but it would be worth pursuing for so many reasons - reasons that would take all day for me to go into. I felt a good vibe in talking with the lady who I would be reporting to if I got the job, but I am keeping my expectations low. I am being interviewed for it Monday, so wish me luck!
Was notified today that I didn't get the job in HR - went to someone who is more qualified. It turns out that the job title, I think, was actually below what I have now. So, I'm stuck in my same job - oh well, maybe that isn't such a bad thing after all. I just wanted to let people know as I was not about to "Almu" anyone here.
Well another HR job came available and I bid on it. And this time I got it! Unfortunately, there's no raise involved since it is a lateral transfer. However, it gets me out of a rut and into doing something I have been wanting to do for some time. After 8 years of doing the same thing, I was ready to do something different. Only bad thing is that my down time will go away - so I don't see myself posting much. I start full-time over in the new department by the middle of the next month.
Thats great news! Change is always good, even lateral job shifts. You never know- you might 'click' with your boss and move up the ladder.
I replied earlier in this thread.. and I got myself a new job with 50% increase in salary.. 5 more vacation days.. and much more benefits.
got about a 30% increase in my new gig...with an actualy chance to advance and make an additional 20% in 8-10 months. whew...a chance to actually move up...how exciting!
Did you or the guy above this post counter offer from your first initial offer or was that what they offered initially? 20% is a good increase let alone 50%! 30% is very good too. Let me know if either of you counter offered.
