Fines shouldn't be given based on if an injury results or not. The NFL has consistently fined players on plays similar to Watts hit. No doubt that was fine worthy. If anyone hit Schaub like that, I'd want the same fine assessed to that player.

The NFL is consistently illogical and idiotic. We can agree there. ;)

Yup, it's stupid....QBs should just hang a yellow flag around their waists.

You've got to be kidding me with that fine.

I guess the essence of tackling has truly been lost. That was the best form on an NFL sack that I have ever seen. Dead serious.

How is Watt to to control that the impact of the hit brings Stafford 's chin into the crown of his helmet. That's what is supposed to happen on a sack.

And just because it looked viscous doesn't mean it's a finable offense. Football is a violent game. It should be for everyone that plays, not just the ones doing the dirty work.

If the NFL has been punishing hits like this all season, shame on them. Atrocious.

Apparently, there is a one foot area where you must place your helmet when executing a form tackle on a quarterback. What the NFL should do is put a target on the quarterbacks jersey indicating this spot, so that any defensive player that wanted to sack the quarterback could make sure his head hit precisely in the safety zone. That'd be about as clownish as this fine.

...bit late but here it is for anyone that hasn't seen it.

Looks to me like Stafford flops by jerking his head back.
