trading JJ was a stab in the back....i mean we traded him for NO GOOD REASON...wesley< JJ in my book and these fickle management decisions wont help with free agents wanting to sign...
I'm just reading Clutch's article. I think he has some pretty close contacts within the organization.
Former Rocket Eddie Johnson said it best one time: You are playing for the NBA, not a specific team, when it comes down to it. It's just like working for a big company and getting transferred. Deal with it, JJ.
Everything I heard didn't. hmmmmmm If JVG wanted to get rid of him that bad, he would have just released him. He obviously was worth nothing on the trade market. IMO, its laughable that JVG would go through so much trouble to screw our 12th man by sending him to the worst team in the league for 56 games.
Most people that get transfered have notice to move their families, find a house etc..etc..etc.... I think JJ got screwed. This is not just about basketball people, it is about his life and family. If he decides to not report, more power to him. DD
Don't be so ignorant Codell, if you can't see how JJ is upset, then so be it, but don't play stupid, it doesn't become you. DD
I was just asking. No need to get hostile dude. I just find it funny that you feel JJ was treated unfairly, yet, a few days ago you suggested trading Mo Taylor. Wouldn't that be unfair to Mo, having to move his family during the season and all?
Anyone that is traded to New Orleans gets screwed, unless they have not been getting playing time for their current team. Ala Boki and Dickau. DD
Yeah, the poor fella would have to pay extra to rent Cheech and Choong's grass wagon since it is close to New Years.
My point did not change, I was showing how ridiculous the comment about being traded compared to getting transfered. Not at all the same thing. DD
Give me a break with the sob stories. He is a millionaire. I'd take his "job" anyday. Besides, he went from one losing team to another. It's not like he was going to win a championship here. And New Orleans isn't too far from Houston.
I THINK JJ is not only upset of being traded, he's also upset about the deal. It's generally accepted that JJ is as good as or a little better than Wesley on the court with JJ has a cheaper contract. JJ also knows the "system" which is certainly a VERY valuable assest for someone. Then u actually throw in a #15 pick player to make the deal. What does it imply? It can be interpreted as JJ has negative value off the court. The team was desperate to get rid of him. I dont know what happen behind the scene, but I can imagine JJ is pissed as he might think he gave 100% to the team and it's his reward.
Sure he has the right not to report, but he is leaving $3 million per year as a result. Trades happen in sports and this is the profession they have choosen. They a very well compensated for it and only have to work half of the year.
October - June is 3/4s of the year, and if he CHOOSES to retire and give up the compensation then, again, more power to him. It is his life...... My guess is that he will eventually report, or will demand a release or trade. Whatever JJ wants, I support, he played hard and did everything that was asked of him here, and he gets traded to possibly the worst team ever assembled...gosh I can see why he might be a little bit angry...
