If Boki had been a threat off the bench the Rockets could have given some of JJ's minutes to him. Pike is having a hard time after his injury,he doesn't look comfortable while shooting which is unusual for him and JJ has to end up with extra minutes. JJ has done well in some games but when his shooting is off we really struggle.
I'd gladly exchange JJ, Pike, AG and Spoon for 1 starting 3. IN fact, I'd exchange a more valuable player. We really need a starter at that spot to make Yao go. JJ is a fine bench guy. He's not gonna shoot over anyone. He's not a dependable shooting threat, period. His passing has been pretty good and his defense pretty good. I'd exchange that for excellence in just 1 area.
