JJ Hickson and Carl Landry are both guys that can abuse people in the low-post, rebound, and shoot the Mid-range/Long 2 point shot. JJ Hickson is more athletic and younger at that spot. He is also a better overall shooter(When looking at the shot-chart) at 56% from the field. I think one of those guys(Preferably Hickson) would be the perfect person to have in the post with Howard.

They are both affordable at $4m a year and wouldn't put ALL the pressure on Dwight to get easy buckets. I think we could only pull this off if we traded Asik and some PF's on the roster. But IMO it would be worth it and i think Morey would try something like this.

Love Landry but at this point he isn't a great starter so no. I'd rather see what Smith or any of our other PFs can do.

There's a part of basketball called defense. I want someone who plays both ends of the floor, not another all-offense-no-defense player.

    GSW best players:
    1 Curry
    2 Bogut
    3 Clay
    4 Lee
    5 Jack
    6 Barnes/Landry

    Blazers best players:
    1. LMA
    2. Lilliard
    3. Batum
    4. Mathews/Hickson

Do you think 6th best player from GSW or 4th best player from a lottery team is the answer at PF????

This. I don't remember Landry playing great defense, and not so sure about Hickson either. Defense wins championships.

well, if the Rockets got Howard, we wouldn't need a star PF. And we couldn't probably afford a star PF.. Landry did well when he was us, cuz he simply needed to fit in. I wouldn't have a problem having him as our PF, to go with Howard, Hardin, Parsons and Lin/Beverly.

Obviously, Omer needs to dramatically improve his post game, mid range shooting, and free throws.

Wait a minute_____ paging Da Dream ;)

Firstly, I would not trade Omer Asik because he and Harden are some of the if not The Most Improved NBA Players.

Cannot understate as Asik is undeniably an Excellent Defender, Rebounder, and Youthful :)

Of course I want Superman but not at the expense of a player like Omer Asik.

Twin Towers can be a reality like Yao & Deke , Hakeem & Sampson !!

Very true however D-Fence can be improved like a lot of other things... Similar to Kevin Martin, Landry is Highly Efficient on O-Fence, Aggressive to the rim, and a Good free throw shooter - (ok Martin is Superior).

However, the features that make Landry stand out are his abilities to take over in the Clutch & the Post as well his Toughness, Energy, Explosiveness, Athleticism, Fearlessness, and Intensity. He is a work horse with considerable playoff experience. There was virtually no ball stagnation with Landry on the Rockets and although H-Town had one of the most potent offenses in the NBA this season, the same cannot be said.

More importantly, Carl Mandry was an integral part of the Rockets Heart & Soul.

It is likely no coincidence that the Rox failed to make the playoffs three years in a row after he was sent yonder

Gimme Dat type of player on the court any day of the week :p

Harden was once the 3rd (4th?) best player on a contender. Lin was once cut from this very team. Asik was once a backup center for a pretender in the East.

I agree that this thread is silly, but that's not the proper reasoning for evaluating acquisitions.
