I wish there was a Rockets radio..I don't give a crap about amateur basketball. Maybe we'll get a power forward from Denver.. Wesley will take a physical ..won't play tomorrow but will probably and should play on Wednesday against the Cavs. Charlie Ward won't need surgery..but sitll injured..and yeah that's it.."Wesley should be the starting 2". And back to other sports..
Not for 60 days. There's a moratorium for trading newly acquired players and then trading them in multi player deals. Also I would never make that trade if I were Denver. Never.
I don't get this trade, but I also don't think it's as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Wesley is a decent scorer and a better PG option than Ward or Gaines. Nachbar was doing nothing here. He's seriously overrated by many people on this board. Losing JJ is old, but it does lead me to believe that something else is in store.
Wesley probably won't be ready for Tomorrow, Ward is having surgery and is out indefinitley!! The news gets better. He said the clubhouse is bummed out - 610 reported Matt Jackson
Matt Jackson reporting Wesley probably won't be ready tomorrow night, however, he will be available for the Cleveland game. He said the players were "stunned" by the news. Also, Charlie Ward needs surgery on his knee and will be out indefinitely. Awesome.
Right. He successfully moved Sprewell to the 3-spot during his days in New York, so hopefully T-Mac's transition will be smooth as well. I also suspect that JVG may want to give Barry significant minutes at the 2, because of his 3-ball, and figure this move was done, in part, to free minutes for him. I really hope another trade is in the works where we can send Mo out for a banger, a good example being PJ Brown (although 35 is a bit old, even for this team), and if such a trade goes through, I'm optimistic about the quality of our supporting cast (with Barry and Wesley being good options to hit their open looks from beyond the arc, and a PJ-type player hitting the boards hard and capable of knocking down the mid-range jumper). I think that sounds significantly better than Mo/Juwan playing the high post, and Sura/JJ getting the open threes. I love Sura's hustle and rebounding, but if we want to salvage the season, his minutes needs to be reduced until he can recover from his injuries and find his shot.
I dont like the trade one bit. I feel horrible for JJ, I was really hoping he would retire a Rocket. Boki I could care less about, lets hope theres another deal in the works. I doubt it.
For some reason I am just not as angry about this trade as a lot of you are. I have been getting tired of JJ's careless turnovers, and his inability to chase quick guards around screens. Not to mention his incredibly inconsistent shot. I think we have gotten better defensively with this trade. Also, when we have Wesley, Barry, and Tmac on the floor with Yao, there is a lot more space for the big man to operate, and we are a better passing, smarter team. I think this trade did a good job of putting another shot maker (who knows his role) on the team. Tmac and Yao will still be the creators, but we finally have some guards that can make shots.
