Bye Boki, bye JJ, good luck with your new team but I hope you two suck when ever you play the Rockets again.
sorry I can't give my source, it's acctually not allowed hey Clutch, actually it's not from KILT 610, they didn't report it untill 1:50pm.
Wesley can shoot. That's has always been his thing. I've seen him play against the Rockets many times. He can shoot. My guess is his shooting percentage will increase with all the open shots given to the PG position from opposing teams. The Rockets have moaned recently how much the point guard roams around to double Yao and try to steal the ball. It's very important to have the PG be a decent 3 point shooter to space the half-court .
when do all these old players contracts end... this is pathetic all JVG wants is old forgotten players from scrub teams
This is just a NULL trade, meaning, it doesn't make any difference one way or the other. Boki won't get any play time under JVG anyway, Wesley fit this team slightly better than Jackson, and he is a better outside shooter. Don't compare their career average because JJ was more of a slash/penetrator in his early days, Wesley has been a well known 3pt threat all his career. We'll see TMac more at 3, Barry/Wesley at 2. Yawm.
Wesley can be a perfect Kenny Smith for us.......the only problem is he will be old and done in 2 years when we are ready to make our move.......
Wow. A legit PG, but no legit SF now? If one thing comes of this- Bringing in new blood puts more pressure on Yao and T-Mac to lead. Change is good people, especially for the underachieving Rox. Stuart
Didnt we think this about ALL of our acquisitions? TMAC, Juwan, Lue, Ward etc. etc. I hope we are right this time
Ward, Barry, Sura, Gaines, Barrett, Wesley nearly half our roster. Half our roster filled by old, aging or unproven guards. Almost all of them are combo guards and the one true PG has a broken knee. That's genius at work. Meanwhile, we have the worst starting forwards in the league. T-Mac a 3? Gimme a break. We are probably going to start bowen and howard/mo as our forwards. Yuck.
Yep, I am still in the state of shock. I guess its unfair to compare stats since he was with the Hornets. He is going to get a lot of open looks here and with the Hornets, since he was known to be a shooter, he was guarded closely. His percentage will probably go up some here with the Rockets. At least, I hope so
Well it looks like Andre B will be on the IL the rest of the season might as well have Gaines there as well
Also keep in mind JVG's comments in the past about the fact he considers SF's and SG's interchangeable on the court.
http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/8040699 Hornets trade Wesley to Houston for Jackson, Nachbar Dec. 27, 2004 SportsLine.com wire reports NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Hornets, off to a 2-24 start, traded shooting guard David Wesley to the Houston Rockets for Jim Jackson and Bostjan Nachbar on Monday. Wesley played for the Hornets since the 1997-98 season, compiling averages of 14.7 points and 4.6 assists. He is the franchise's career leader in games started and ranks in the top three in 12 other categories. Wesley averaged 13.9 points and 4.2 assists in 26 games with the Hornets this season. "Jim and Bostjan are going to fit well into our system and should be able to help us with their offensive skills," Hornets general manager Allan Bristow said in a statement. "We're optimistic that the addition of these two players and the return of some of our injured players will give us a great boost on the court." Jackson, a 13-year veteran who plays both shooting guard and small forward, holds career averages of 15.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists. The 6-foot-6 journeyman has spent time with Dallas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Golden State, Portland, Atlanta, Cleveland, Miami and Sacramento in addition to Houston, where he signed as a free agent before last season.
