He was definitely a PG early in his Hornet career.

If i am not mistaken early in his career Mugsy Bogues was the point and Wesley was always running the 2. If he ever played the point it was out of position cause i have never seen him as a point.

I remember he played mostly as a point(pre-BDiddy), but is always listed as a 2. He brings up the ball a lot even when BDiddy was playing. Kinda like Bobby Jackson.

When Mugsey Bogues was manning the point in Charlotte's glory days, Kendall Gill was the SG. Wesley was the point in Boston, New Jersey, and his early days in Charlotte. He wasn't averaging 6 - 7 apg by being a 2 guard.

Here's another tidbit that I just remembered. David Wesley was the point and Bobby Phils was the starting 2 guard. They were best friends, and of course, Bobby Phils died in the car accident when they were racing near the Coliseum. That happened in 1997 or 1998 I believe. Then they drafted Baron Davis in 1999, where he served as Wesley's backup for a while. The Hornets decided to go with the small backcourt at either the end of Davis' rookie year or start of his 2nd year.

    aT 2:17 PM TODAY - 12-29-04

On 610 Sports radio-Rich lord said that New Orleans Hornets offered P.J. Brown for Mo Taylor and the 2005 1st round pick. The Rockets declined the offer and instead worked the deal to trade Jackson for Wesley.

We will never get a better offer for Taylor as Brown is still servicable, and we blow our draft picks every time anyway- the draft is our enemy.....

I had to do something since the deal took away two of my banners :)

I'll probably do Jon Barry and Dikembe Mutombo as well eventually.

Yeah, it was posted in here as well last night that Matt Jackson said the same thing (posted by "Rocket G", top of page 26 of this thread).

You make an interesting point about our draft record, but that pick is looking likely to be a lottery selection. I think we can do better for the pick... but I may be wrong.

I know some of you might be interested in a Boki update.

Have the game on here at the bar. He is wearing number 10 now. Finally got into the game with about 1:30 left in the first. Got the ball took his man off the dribble stopped and popped and made his first shot as a Hornet.

And it only took Boki 2 shots to score 2 points. Wesley - 5 shots for the same 2 points.

Wesley did good imo. He swished his last shot. He is definitely not a ballhog . The shots I saw were all catch and shoot. He plays good defense. He's tough and he looks strong. I like him. Just one game though lol. I hope Barry and Wesley will be solid role players for us pleaseeee.

Yep. I'll say it again. This guy busted his hump all offseason and spent a ton of time in the gym here working to get better. He deserved a chance to get some minutes. For goodness sake, if Van Gundy is gonna give MoT minutes, than Boki sure deserved them. I'm glad to see the kid stick up for himself.

No fouls is his most amazing stat. If you watched the game you could easily see he was so relaxed out there without worrying if he would be sent to the IL if he made a mistake.

We played the Cavs w/o Lebron the whole 2nd half

NO played the Suns....NO freaking comparison.

Wins and Losses shouldn't even be a point of conversation when it comes to the NO Hornets. Why don't you bring up last night's 30 point loss to the bucks? What the poster brought up was the fact that boki had a good game and games like that will be seen more often now that he's gonna get 25-30 minutes every game. Just watch.

So its all about stats and not how their team performs on the court?

BTW ...Wesley didn't play against the Bucks and we were beating them by 7 with LeBron in the game.

    Wesley 1-0

    Boki 0-1

I vote we keep a tally going here. I feel good about our team's chances with Wesley.

    I don't about NO's chances with Boki.
