Big Dog ain't going nowhere except for an all star or an expiring contract. KT can be had because of his contract but it wouldn't benefit us unless somehow we got Dalembert to go with him and I don't think we got anything that could persuade Philly to cut loose of Dalembert now that JJ and Boki are gone. I think the Raps would probably dump Rose on us for Spoon, Deke, a pick or whatever but I don't think we are doing that deal without Marshall. We may be able to turn a deal with them if they really want rid of Jalen and can't find any other takers besides us. Sac ain't turning loose of Webb and we wouldn't take him anyways. What good is Snow gonna do us now that we have picked up JB and DW? I can't see Zo wanting to come here.

i don't know why are you guys so mad at this trade. Yall say that JJ and Wesley are the same so we didn't make a big change, and boki wasn't going to play anyways. About the deal with T-mac playing 3 i will just wait till the game to see how it turns out.

What the !!!!????????? I can't remember having ever seen a worse trade for a Houston team. There BETTER be another trade coming that rectifies this.

I think the trade is pretty even. Not great or terrible. Just a change, which this team might need. If they really are ticked in the lockerroom, maybe they'll take their frustration out on the other team. Mo Taylor will be swinging his elbows and hitting jumpers, improving his trade value at the same time.

JJ wasn't a good defender, and he occasionally made silly plays because he didn't acknowledge his athletic limitations. I'll miss him--he was a good shooter, played hard, and seemed good in the lockerroom. But it's not like he took a below-market deal out of some humanitarian motive. He signed the best deal he could get, if I remember correctly. I think he signed very late as a free agent. Nachbar is a throw-in, even if a lot of Rockets fans loved him.

As long as Wesley doesn't race TMac or Yao, he is probably a little more consistent shooter than JJ, who probably is a streakier shooter. It's just a change, and I'm sure they'll look for our remaining hole at 4. But other than taking on a bad contract, we don't have much tradeable other than our #1 pick.

I've never really liked JJ that much but I don't get who is going to play the 3 for us unless they are putting barry at the 2 and moving tmac to the 3.

I'm afraid that we will have to take back junk in any future trade this year. No one wants to touch our 4's.

    Man, another trade!

Personally, I like David Wesley. I think he'll be an upgrade to this squad at the PG/SG spot.

Giving up JJ was a bad move on the Rockets. It should of been MoT or Howard.

I think it was too much and including Boki?!? Insane.

I'm going out on this one, but management seems to have something going. I hope they get rid of MoT or Howard and bring in a legitimate SF and PF to help this squad.

not sure what is up for Brand, but doubt the Clippers are that stupid, they would want rookie contracts and 1st round picks, or expiring contracts if they did

As optimisitic as i am right now i am not sure we are contender or if Zo is that much better than Deke right now to play back up 5

Snow and CWebb i presume you are trying to collect of the whole set of bad contracts for players on the decline

Rose for Mo i would do, but now that we have Wesley and Spoon expiring after next season surely we want to try to add more contracts with 2 years left on em and make a run before Yao signs his extension

Big Dog... see Snow and CWebb but a million times worse, actuallu just checked Patricia's site, does his 12 mill contract expire at the end of next season.. then sign me up, think that would mean 22 million in expiring contracts

KT now that would be nice, a PF that plays hard and can rebound, but of course that doesn't fit in the 2 year cap space plan

i find it pretty funny that people feel like the rockets owe jim jackson anything or as mark jackson said, did him wrong. i don't understand that at all. he played well last year but do the rockets not have the right to try and better the team?(whether or not we actually did isn't relevant) jj wasn't guaranteed anything but his millions of dollars when he signed last year. he was one of my favorite players and i never expected him to be traded but he sure wasn't done wrong.

MJ should go and suck some lemons for a change. That guy has been horrible ever since he moved to "tv". Well maybe not really horrible but close - how classless to advice a fellow pro to throw fits. Nice job there mark :(

Can't believe it took this thread 16 pages for someone to post this :D.

Anyway, I think I like Wesley over Jackson for this team - I did not like Jackson too much, even though his production per dollar was good.

I just think we could have gotten more for him and Boki - and we should not have made this kind of trade without at least getting a draft pick in return.

I don't understand why it was not possible to include Taylor and P.J. Brown in this deal - then, I would have been happy.

I don't know if I like or dislike the trade...

With the free roster spot, I have a hunch that we're going to sign a guy from the NDBL or a FA.

Moiso was realised from the Raptors and I think he hasn't shown all he can do...

    Just a thought

To me the frustration is not about JJ and Wesley.
That could be a good change or it could be a wash.

The frustration is that Boki didn't get a chance to play minutes and he has youth and talent, he might not be a star or starter, but he proved he could play and be a good role player. His only fault this year has been foul trouble. He showed energy, defense and he was hitting shots at a decent %.

The other frustration is that we are stacked with Spoon, Howard, Taylor and Padgett at the PF and most of them have bad contracts and none of them are very good.

I don't see an answer. But moving one of these guys for rebounder would have been a trade definately in our favor.

Frustration is look at our record, look at our bench, look at our role players.. maybe that is the way it is, but we are pretty weak once you go past TMac and Yao.

Yao has a way to go still, but if he doesn't really step up the rest of the season we are going to be lottery.

    That is frustrating.

That's smart of them. The Hornets knew we were desperate and thus they didnt include PJ Brown. They were right. We made the move anyway.

hey just pointing out the obvious ...don't be so sensitive ....theres no shame in not knowning the NBA personnel business :p

besides, i figured you saw the quote earlier in this thread where CD said on the radio that the Rockets asked about Brown and said the Hornets werent interested

as CD says "you have to give quality to get quality"
