This trade sux! JJ is showing sign of dramatic improvement, and we just gave up a #15 pick after paying $$$ for two years?

Wesley isn't even a good shooter. I don't understand what the trade is about:mad:

CD and JVG are avoiding the hard problems: moving dead weight like Ward, Spoon, MoT and Howard. Come on, our PF position is the weakest link!

    Man, I'm confused.

Wesley and Jackson seem so much alike, except Jackson is in better shape physically.

I can't even grasp why we made this trade, and also dumped boki. Was this only for salary reasons? This doesn't seem to help the team now, and any future value boki might have had is gone.

Why don't we just trade for a real passing PG who isn't 38 years old instead of a bunch of tweener SGs?

I dont understand both the trades. Who on a current roster is going to be on this team in 3-4 years when T-Mac and Yao hit their prime. My guess is just T-Mac and Yao. If the current team cannot compete than trade for players that will be here for a while ala Kareem Rush. Not for more players that will not help or marginally help the team than be gone in 2 seasons.
    I don't get it.

I love the trade, we get a very good shooter and a underrated defender out of Wesley. JJ was very inconsistent this year after being very solid the previous year. And the enigma named Boki will have to try elsewhere. I would have liked to keep him, but I suppose that we couldn't get rid of anyone elses big-ass contract. Maybe a change of scenery for Wesley will give him one more solid run at the twilight of his career. Bottom line is IMO, that we didn't lose anything in this trade...excpet for Boki's untapped potential.

David Wesley is gonna be good here.
JJ was really in slowmotion this year. His D was bad.
We liked him, yes, but Wesley is what we need. Moving, in-and-out mixing player. And has good D.

this is a weird trade, definitely, but ultimately it's a two for three trade. we've gone from having two legitimate starters to having three now. JJ was a good role player, but was out of position at the three. unfortunately, he's too slow to be a two any longer. wesley may have been playing the two, but he's more than capable as a one. bottom line, wesley at the one, backing up the two, is better than JJ at the three, backing up the two. sure, we've still got holes to fill, and i hate to see JJ and Boki (who was never given a chance this year) leave, but we're three fifths of the way to fielding a legitimate NBA starting five now.

heres some things i learned from these trades..

    1) the rockets werent even buying the give it time excuse...the expectation for this team is to win now...thus why trade for all the old guys..

    2) its always the players and not the system with jvg....

    3) boki was never going to get a chance to play here..

    4) a rudy t player is not a jvg player....so see ya mo

i've been thinking about this trade for most of the day and have come to the conclusion that our power forwards are still terrible. i mean the barry trade was a steal for us and this one at first glance looks pretty crappy but neither have anything to do with our most glaring weakness...mo,juwon,clarence, and scott.

    a few thoughts...

jj wasn't really that good this season. if you take away that last game his shot has been off, he's turned the ball over entirely too much for someone who isn't the first or second ball-handler and his lack of quickness has hurt on defense.

david wesley has struggled mightily without baron davis but i don't think he lost a step all of a sudden like payton did. wesley isn't a player that can carry a team but if you look at the hornets who else are you going to try and shut down? he's a career excellent catch and shoot guy and i think he can hit those open jumpers that jj was bricking this season.

boki is a non-factor because he was never going to do anything as a rocket cause he was never gonna play. whether he was traded or he walked after this seaon he wasn't gonna be here long. it's too bad because he showed more confidence in his shot when he got playing time and he can take it to the hole. i think he'll be a player for somebody.
