I have had time to consider, reflect, and contemplate the ramifications of the trade. I am now able to render a less emotional and reflexive verdict which is that it is STILL A STUPID, INCOMPREHENISBLE, AND THOROUGHLY UNPRODUCTIVE MOVE!!! What can possibly be accomplished by this? J.J. was just hitting his stride this year, and Boki will come back to haunt the Rockets, mark my words. I am questioning not only the acquistion of personnel but the management and development of personnel. How many trades in the NBA have worked out for those trading large for small, young for old, and two for one?
I heard JJ & TMac were fighting over Beyonce...which carried over onto the court. JJ pretty much was saving his "legs" to continue his hot pursuit of Beyonce. JVG was sick of hearing them say "I'm better looking than you" type comments. Oh...wait a minute...my bad...JJ did this while @ Dallas.
Oh one other thing to make you all go nuts... Matt Jax said Mo could have been traded and i believe we would have got pj brown for the 1st but we were scared it will be a lottery pick and I think N.O. would not let us protect it.
1) The first one you mentioned is total BS, why would the Wizards trade a serviceable backup SG and a young, athletic SF for an old, undersized SF (JJ) and a total bust (BN)? The second trade sounds a little more reasonable. 2) Speaking of this extra roster spot we have, we should talk about something legit, not this Nene/RW for our garbage stuff that has been mentioned. So what the hell has Keon Clark been up to lately? Any chance of getting him in a Rockets uni? He would be great as a PF and could also backup at center. Any thoughts?
This trade is just silly. We trade our only tradeable commodities for a guy who is no better than one of the players we traded to get him. Wesley might fit in better with this team, but he doesn't help with the weaknesses of the team..............rebounding and PG play. He's not a PG........he can play PG, but he's not a PG. Like someone else said earlier his best seasons he had while playing the 2. Furthermore, I can think of nothing that we have as far as tradeable assets to help us trade for somebody who could help with those 2 weaknesses. CD is worthless............and JVG is as well. Also you can't take away from the impact this is going to have on the locker room. JJ was the team leader, and was well liked by his teammates. There have already been reports about the team being down about the trade.........as if this team needed another reason to hate JVG. This just about insures us of having a lottery season. The good news is (at least I can hope) that Les is probably going to fire both of them and start this organization fresh in the off season. GOD I can't wait to get rid of these 2.
i dont know what is happening...i am so scared...sooo scared... i wish to have the team that went to the playoffs last yr...i really do.
In my opinion, that is a good trade. I noticed that when JJ was ill and was not on the court, the RoX played better.Sometimes He wasted so many shots .
I'm starting to lose faith in this board... it's time for someone to break out the Real American Genius General Manager song! Who cares about average age? Or average height? Do those things correlate to winning? What if my grandma suddenly became the 12th "man" for Phoenix and the average age spiked to 40? Do they become the worst team in the league? We have two young superstars logging a lot of minutes. It's about the team on the court not the 10th man. No team plays a 12 man rotation save for the All Star team. Please some of you take off the GM hat which you cannot come close to wearing and put back on the fan hat and cheer for our team. Welcome David Wesley.
After letting the initial shock of them trading JJ away (I thought he was the closest to untouchable other than Yao & Tmac), here is my thoughts... 1) The two trades this week didn't cost a draft pick nor did they suck in another long and/or bloated contract. 2) Brought in two character guys who bring ALOT more to the court than just talent. 3) Opens a roster spot to make trading one of our PFs easier as it will probably take a 2-for-1 deal to match contracts. I think the trade for Wesley is a wait and see deal. I think we can fully judge this once the trade deadline passes and we see exactly what the roster will look like the rest of the season. It was posted here that NO wanted a 1st rounder for PJ Brown. I wonder, if they are able to find a trade to deal one of our PFs (maybe for a PG), if maybe the Rockets will go back again and make that deal for him.
Just finished talking to CD and JVG. They are currently tryiing to trade for Reggie Miller and Kevin Willis. In addition, Patrick Ewing will be added to the roster to make this the oldest team in history.
This is just a stupid trade. I don't care a rat's bum about Boki but JJ for Wesley? r****ded. Absouletyly stupid. Are they trying to make this the oldest team his history.
