Im as sure as a w****'s wink that these last two trades make the Rockets a better team.

The way I see it is we exchanged Jackson and Lue for Wesley and Barry.

The Bobats are lucky they did not play us before these two trades buddy!

    Good shakeup. seriously.

    Wow, you're first post!

JJ's problem is that he is always a teams 3rd best player, which puts him in a tradeable spot. Only 1 team wins every year...only 4 even make it to the conference finals. Tht means there are a lot of teams out there constantly looking to get better. Trading away a decent player for another decent player that may improve your chemistry is one way to do that. The Rockets almost went that direction way back with the Horry/Elliot trade that didn't happen. Trading decent players for definitively better players is ALWAYS hard to do - the Rockets got lucky by acquiring Clyde for OT.

Anyway, I saw the thread title and immediately thought, "Ok". Anyone who has watched JJ play this year understands that he isn't having his best year, stats aside - he just seemed unsure of what to do to often.

Wesley probably isn't much of an upgrade overall, but he clearly IS an upgrade in terms of ball-handling. The Rockets must be the most pressed team in the league - why? because half the time our PG turns it over in the backcourt (okay, so an exaggeration and we've definitely seen improvement with Sura, but you get the idea). Wesley gives you the same shooting, the same scoring, and negligble differences in assists and boards. He's a better ballhandler, though a shorter player.

As has been mentioned before, the main negative from this trade has to be the fact that it is inconceivable for them to make any obviously improvement trades going forward.

But that's not CD's fault is it - can we really blame him for not parlaying JJ into Nene. The same Nene, who, though not spectacular, was rumored to be the main player involved in a trade to Milwaukee for Redd. Just as Milwaukee would be dumb to do that deal, Denver would be dumb to give up Nene for Jim Jackson.

I can see this trade making us better, especially offensively. I can't see it making us worse. If we continue to suck it won't be because we traded JJ for David Wesley.

    Wow guys.. RELAX!

As much as I hate losing JJ, I can live without him. We get a guy that handles the ball more than him and still turns it over less.

"I dont want the best players, I want the right players" - 1981 USA Hockey Coach

JJ is a better player than DW, but I think DW fits the style of play JVG wants. Lots of ball movement and making the opposition pay for double teams. How many times did you see JJ attack the basket and draw fouls? (Not many times if i recall)

Even though its hard.. im going to trust JVG to sport a winning squad on the court.. he has a track record of doing so.

I don't think it went down like that. I don't know. The way I took it is.... He didn't demand a trade. He asked for one. He just wanted some PT.

I am a Baylor alum, and it is not good to bring anyone associated with Baylor sports to a professional sports franchise. Ok ok, thats not true, Michael Johnson and the famous football player (name?), but I do not see how this made us better. We are searching for a solid 3rd or 4th option, and we traded a 3rd option for a 3rd option, what is going on?

Who passed the crack pipe to the Rocket? Why are they aquiring all of these ancient players. Why would you trade for a 34 year old player who is playing SG at 6-1? Also Wesley is making 9,405,000 the next two years. Jackson 5,175,000 the next two years. Nacbar can go...he has had enough years to prove something! The rockets have gone after the aging Charlie Ward, bad back having Sura, and ancient Barry. Also if Gundy is so concerned with defense...what does he think a 6 foot SG is going to do...oh a 34 year old 6 foot SG! Outside of Yao and McGrady..the team is getting pretty old! About this time Gundy will jump ship and go back to the announce team. Oh yeah he will quit on a team...ask the Knicks. Dawson may be the one who needs to be fired...making these odd moves!

NOTE - This is the sixth time Jim Jackson has been traded, this is the FIRST time David Wesley has.

I believe there is something that says.... what it is though, I dont know...

Good move. Jackson, while serviceable, has been turnover prone, and doesn't complement Yao and TMac very well. Wesley is a good ball handler who can pass the ball and feed the post well. He shouldn't have any problem hitting the open 3 pointer either.

My only question is how did Dallas get Darrell Armstrong for virtually nothing, and we have to trade our 3rd best player to get Wesley? And we're still left without a proper 4.

How many times do you expect David Wesley to attack the basket? I hope you don't expect it too much.

    Because our GM sucks.

Our biggest hole is rebounding and all we have done is made our team worst at it.

You're telling me that NO wouldn't have taken JJ for Wesley straight up? Or atleast toss us a 2nd rounder or something.

Also, I think Dallas got a pick with Armstrong as well.
