LOL, "hopefully it works" So Sura's hurt so we need to add another guard and get Wesley. Of course we needed to add another guard because the Ward signing was complete trash. And then we have Barrett that is healthy but on IR because Ward was not honest with how injured he was when we took him off IR. It is like watching dominos fall.
If all 3 players pass their physicals and the league approves the trade by game time tomorrow then he will play.
Freeing up the roster spot might indicate that we may be trying to pull off another deal which would involve shipping out one player and getting two in return. Hopefully that means a high-salary guy (MoT) going somewhere for someone's young 4 and maybe another 3. Who would that scenario fit? Would that work in Denver? Or maybe Portland or Seattle? Could we be swinging a deal for AD and Vlad + filler for Wesley and MoT ? And geez, I had such high hopes for Boki. What a shame. Just watch now as this guy becomes a 15 pts per game scorer by the end of the season. *sigh*
Well, an additional roster spot could also be used to hold one of the players who are on IL right now due to lack of space
That was my feeling as well. Perhaps the JJ/Nachbar assets arent rated that highly across the NBA. Who knows? But yeah, if we were going to move JJ/Nachbar, I was hoping for someone that would be a bit more of a core piece (like Daniels or Arroyo that you mentioned above) than someone like an aged Wesley who will most likely be a 1.5 year rental at best.
this trade just makes it that much more apparent that we're completing the transformation into the NY Knicks. I can't stand this man. Can't Les see it? I've always questioned the hiring when it happened and always preferred Larry Brown (even to this day). I like wesley but like everyone else on this board, I feel that he's too old and very undersized for the 1 let alone the 2-spot. This is gonna make t-mac play a lot of minutes at the 3. At least one bright spot that came out of this is Boki. Im happy to see him move away from this hell hole of a system. At least he'll get the consistent minutes he'll never see here. I'm happy for him and I hope he shows everybody (especially OUR stupid coach) what we're missing out on.
personally, i dont think boki is that great. he doesnt shoot well. while he gets to the hole, he doesnt finish well. his defense isnt up to par. he does run the court well, but that doesnt fit with the rockets slow it down style.
Inside-outside game worked for the Rockets in the past. I think they did pretty well with it for a couple of years in the mid-90's.
I agree with you. Boki will get benifit from this trade. ROX will go to the deep hell. This team has no future with JVG as head coach
mm.... I smell the free of one roster spot could be use to sign Karl Malone, the Rockets will become the oldest team in the history of NBA.
You're acting like I'm disagreeing with that. My point was, I don't want Posey shooting that percentage for the money he's getting. That doesn't necessarily equate to "I want Wesley over Posey". When 2 players are stinking it up shooting, I don't care about their heights or age - I'd rather not have either.
Something has to be going on with JJ. He moves around way to much to be such a good player. Seems like maybe attitude is a problem or something has to be wrong. I'm a BOKI fan regardless of his playing time (or lack thereof). And I love watching JJ play. With that said, I'm hoping something else is in the works because as of right now, this makes us: 1)older 2)slower 3)offensive focused (again), not defensive 4)smaller We NEED boards. We NEED height. We NEED a good shooter. And we NEED some DEFENSE! babydill.
Waited 2 1/2 years for your first post, and you picked a trade involving 2 old guards and a perpetual DNP-CD?
