when the lakers hosted the hornets on dec.22 david wesley scored 20 pts grabbed 5 boards along with 6 assists, and 0 turnovers, kobe bryant had 29 pts, 5 reb, 4 assist, and 4 turnovers, and the key fact is is that he shot 9-26, which goes to show that david wesley did a good job on bryant making him miss 17 shots, i mean after all, its kobe, there arent too many people in this league that can stop kobe from scoring
I'm having a hard time with this trade, but this logic makes some sense. Can anyone else comment on Wesley's D?
Not outta here yet, I was a Rockets fan when the Rockets sucked big time, during the millenium season, the Cato era, remember? most of those players played with heart, exept Eddie, and now that they're all gone and the coaching staff is terribe i don't see a reason to stick around being a rockets fan. i hold nothing against the players on the current roster other that like half of them played for JVG when he was with the Knicks, as if they ever did anything good. /I'll probably be better by tomorrow and regret these words, but for today, screw this.
Damn i dont get this trade!! I guess its good that Wesley's contract is up after this year (thats what somone else said). I really liked JJ alot and thought if we traded him it would be for a PF not an underzsized (and old) SG. I hope there is another trade in the works because we still need a PF and now a SF as well.
Anyone else see the NBA tv special they did on New Orleans at the start of the season like they did for Denver last season?? Wesley was the ONLY great part of the team, plays every game for his friend that died and is a SOLID leader on the floor... I think minus his game we are +10000 in the attitude column, he was always happy and busted his A$$ on the floor durring ever pratice, to me he has last years Mark Jacksons basketball IQ with more speed and can still shoot... lets face it if he gets the same open looks JJ got he will be a great fit.. We still have some holes to fill, but lets hope for the best and see what he can do b4 we all get down on the team GO ROCKETS!!!
lol Just illustrating that these guys...both mine and the kooks across the street...have a difficult job of keeping everyone happy. There are legions of people out there that don't give a damn about the Rockets and you alienate them by concentrating too much on the Rox. There are other people out there (like me) that would like more Rockets talk than anything else and you have to keep those people happy. Ultimately it is the mobilized listeners---the callers---that construct the flow of information. If the boards are lit up with Rockets calls the guys will gravitate to that as the topic of the day. If there are 4 calls on hold wanting to talk about the trade and 1 that wants to talk about the Rose Bowl the screener will usually be intructed to dump the Rose Bowl call to make room for trade talk. He will then filter calls for that.
This move sucks. JJ is our team leader. Wesley is a good shooter, but I don't think he is worth Boki and JJ. In the eternal words of Florida Evans, "Dammm, Dammm, Dammm, Dammm..."
I just want to know why? Yao like SF, cat they are gone, Yao like boki and fans too, then boki gone, we like JJ then JJ gone. what's wrong with this. Is CD or someone try to destroy Rox? I really don't like this, and also I don't know how to say. Now the rockets is not what I liked, Rudy , SF, CAt, cato, Now JJ, and boki.I just don't like this. I think CD and JVG not that so dumb. They do should have something more to get. Let's hope and see.
By the way, I try to avoid the truly speculative no basis rumor talk, but is it possible that Nachbar being in this trade had something to do with his relationship with Yao? That is to say, perhaps JVG saw Nachbar as a bad influence, a soft, unagressive unemotional player, qualities that JVG is desperately trying to get Yao to overcome. Maybe Yao needs to be less comfortable, less relaxed. I don't know, just a thought.
790 just had a tmac clip.. he basically said the guys upstairs are very impatient and they want us to win. and im all for the moves if it finds the pieces to put around me and yao. He was not against the move at all.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but now we have an open roster spot. Who do you guys think we will be picking up? I'm pretty damn sure another trade is in the works... if not.. maybe we can get that big man out of the Chinese team... I forget his name, but isnt he averaging like 30+ points?
