I went to high school at Tomball with this kid and played basketball with him. His story is crazy but he's always been such a great humble person. Props to him getting drafted #30 first round to Chicago. He deserves this. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2011/columns/story?columnist=ford_chad&page=Butler-110618
.. playing with D Rose will make him even better than he already is. The bulls have some poor wings besides Deng...korver,brewer are a forgettable combo, hopefully he can catch on
Especially at the age of 13. I hope his so called "biological father" Doesn't try to pull a fast one too. You just can't do that to someone leave them but when they gain success pretend as if that they've been there all of Butler's life.
I remember watching this guy in 2013-14 and thinking ‘he’s going to be a star, we need to get him’. Then, boom, the next year he’s averaging 20. Now he’s on a HOF trajectory and building his legend as the basketball Reggie Jackson. I so wish we could have grabbed him early. Such a stud.
I can say this without any hesitation, Butler has the strongest will in the league. The guy just wins through determination. He just tries harder than everyone else. Going to Miami was a perfect fit. I wished he would have come to Houston to play with Harden. They would have complimented each other very well unless they killed each other first.
+1 He has that very rare combination of sheer willpower, skill and athleticism that seems to be in dwindling supply in today’s sports. Miami has always been my favorite Eastern Conference team, so at least he plays on a team I can pull for.
Have you seen Butler's interviews about his ethics/principles in holding people accountable?! . James doesn't respond well to even slight criticism, I think like you said would have killed each other
He’s basically everything Harden isn’t. Winner Mentally tough Strong work ethic Always in shape Actually makes his teammates better Hard worker Team player Reliable Not a choker Not a loser Not a turnover machine Not a chucker Not a bum Killer mentality Clutch High basketball IQ Nice hairline
Jimmy Butler the type of dude to make his own way and carry 3 undrafted nobodies. Jimmy butler ain’t the type of dude to sit around in the corner and be a 3pt specialist.
I don't think Jimmy would have tolerated Harden, no, and I say this as a guy who loved watching James play when he was here. Jimmy would've demanded a trade out within <1.5 seasons max. He doesn't have time for guys who don't live and breathe basketball, as we saw in Minnesota.
