http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/04/07/portsmouth-day1/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2 Not really a serious prospect, but I went to high school with this guy and shot around with him a few times (I was a freshman when he was a senior). Thought it was pretty cool to see someone from the same place I am and same alma mater be acknowledged on the big stage.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=5069688&postcount=4 I remember watching a few Marqutte games last year, he looks like an athletic wing player. He and this other guy that play for Cincinatti (something-kill, or kill-something) have a good feel for transition breaks and cutting to the basket in half court sets. Probably a second rounder at best.
His defense is pretty damn good. He knows how to use his really long wingspan and he's put on a lot of muscle since high school so I'd say that he can guard the big, strong, wing players in the NBA. The main thing holding him back is his offensive game.
I like Butlers potential on the next level. I think they should take a look at him if he is around come the 37th-38th pick.
The more I watch Butler the more I like him. I think he's as safe of a bet as you can get in the second round. I see no reason why he coudn't become a starter in the mold of Wes Matthews or Landry Fields. It's all there IMO. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/A_JJUDSp6kk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Bring him home!
I agree, and from what I remember, he was a very humble and hardworking player in high school so there's no reason why he wouldn't be able to succeed on the next level
