He made the right choice, more beautiful area, club scene, opportunities to stay in the high life and an established winning culture with Pat Reily and their hungry young guys. Coach who proved he can adjust as well.
It is embarrassing watching Mike Dantoni and then turning around and watching Erik Spoelstra. Absolutely embarrassing. Good for Jimmy
Who knew you had to make adjustments to win in the playoffs? Dantoni is probably shocked. Congrats to Butler on advancing and choosing Miami.
if Jimmy came to Houston he would have probably run MDA out of town. Harden would have gotten tired of CP3 AND Jimmy nagging him to play like there is no tomorrow.
Haha I like @Fulgore, good poster but nope. I don't even blame Jimmy but that could not have worked out worse for the Rockets and better for the Heat. "Rockets confident they're getting Butler." Rockets don't even get a meeting, he signs with Miami. Rockets end up trading for Westbrook (Heat were reportedly interested, they "miss" out, the rest is history...[In the Finals, I think they'll have cap room to go big free agent shopping after 2021?])
They'll definitely lure someone there. Their organization with Spo and Riley are reliable. They will probably sign Giannis when the time comes for it. Good on them, never had anything against them, Riley cockblocks Morey a lot but maybe Morey should make sure he gets a coach that can get the most out of this team.
See if the Miami Heat will want James Harden for Jimmy Butler and fillers lol. We were willing to give 4 first round draft picks.
[Not Rockets related] And then the Heat, the whole trade mix-up with the Mavs. Heat were gonna send Dragic to the Mavs. Mavs are like nah, we're saving our space for other signings. (They signed Delon Wright & Seth Curry) https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article232388897.html “As far as we can tell, it was just miscommunication,” Cuban told me in an email exchange. As part of a sign-and-trade with Philadelphia involving Jimmy Butler, the Heat --- according to multiple reports the night of June 30 --- agreed to send Goran Dragic to Dallas. Three hours later, several media outlets --- including The Miami Herald and New York Times --- reported that Dallas believed it was getting Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr. in the deal, not Dragic. Another Heat player would have been needed beyond Olynyk and Jones Jr. to satisfy league salary cap rules. The Heat definitely did not want to trade Jones and preferred dealing Dragic than a Jones/Olynyk combo. Cuban did not discuss specific players in his email but said “I was sitting in the room full of people when the call was discussed and we put the trade we thought was happening on our board. We later discussed trade kickers and added a player to make it work. They obviously thought they heard something else.” Cuban said “there was absolutely nothing malicious that went on.” And Cuban made this clear, too: “We get along great with the Heat and have done many deals with them. Wires just got crossed somehow.” The Mavericks have great respect for Dragic but were hoping to use their cap space in other ways and found what they hope will be their long-term point guard solution in Delon Wright. After the trade with the Mavericks fell apart, the Heat conveyed to Dragic’s camp that it would try to trade him to accommodate cap requirements to execute the Butler sign and trade, according to league sources. But when Portland offered to take Hassan Whiteside for Mo Harkless (then re-routed to the Clippers) and Meyers Leonard, that eliminated Miami’s need to trade Dragic. And the Dragic camp was then told that he would remain on the Heat barring something unforeseen. The Heat has declined to comment about what led to the misunderstanding with Dallas or anything involving the matter. https://nba.nbcsports.com/2019/07/0...s-blame-each-other-for-trade-falling-through/ https://nba.nbcsports.com/2019/07/01/report-mavericks-signing-seth-curry-for-four-years-32-million/
The Heat have had a great playoffs and Jimmy certainly made the doubters looks silly by advancing to the finals. However, if it weren't for the bubble, they would absolutely not have made the finals as a 5th seed lol. They just got hot at the right time and some of their young guys essentially had an offseason to get better with the 4 month layoff.
Thank you. II don't have an issue with people posting stuff that's critical of the team or stuff that outright bashes every person, place or thing having to do with the team. Or employing hindsight to bash decisions that were made, especially bad ones, more especially very bad ones. There's absolutely a place for that, there's a place for a lot of it, and that place is here. What bothers me isn't that posts/threads like that exist in this forum; it's that they absolutely dominate it. I don't expect posters to be cheerleaders but you would think there would be a larger number of fans here that are actually rooting for the team they're actually fans of. And by larger, I mean more than a handful. This forum wasn't always that way. So I agree with you @HP3. What's up with that?
i've loved watching the heat all year, especially herro but just like POR/HOU/DEN they are going to be shaking their heads w/ hands up in the air nonstop. zebra blitzkrieg is undefeated
