I know it's just a practice scrimmage but this a real pretty shot. He could be a really great role player but if he works on his pg skills I think he can be really good. This video is of a live practice with the Kings. http://youtu.be/PcKdqQI2WOk <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PcKdqQI2WOk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
All it shows is he still has a great shooting touch. We'll see how it translates to real games where there is actual intensity. Remember Derrick Chievous (if you are old enough). I hope he does well and has a great NBA career.
sure, let me just start a new thread i didn't know it was going to be that big haha. sorry about that.
Jimmer is what would be if Larry Bird were a 6'3 guard. This guy is going to be special. Only problem is that they have Tyreke "can't shoot" Evans on that team. They need to turn tyreke into a sf, and it might work.
I'm 22 so I really don't remember. And you're right, maybe I jumped the gun on Jimmer. Rookie mistake on my part. I'm just happy that the NBA is back, no matter how much mental torture they put me through.
Even people who were around don't remember Derrick Chievous. But what I do know is that Chievous and fredette have absolutely nothing in common. Fredette has more in common with Stephen Curry.
Jimmer and Tebow will lead sports to the new golden age!! They will both become multi-sport athletes. Tebow for the win.... YESSSS. (Marv Albert on the Call)
I do think that there is a sea change going on, especially in Basketball. I mentioned this before and people said I was being racist and aligning me with the third reich. But, with what Kevin Love has done, what Tyler is doing, Gordon Hayward, even to a certain extend Curry, Brandon Roy, Battier. Guys believe if they learn fundamentals and play hard that can make it in the league. Tim Duncan did this for years as well. This is switch from when Jordan ushered in the jump higher than everyone basketball player that can't play a lick. And it might be because front office people are taking less chances on the freak athletic abilities and paying attention to how the kid handles defensive positioning, boxing out, shooting the rock.
Forget the "rookie mistake" part. It's easy to root for the guy. But I wouldn't judge him based on a public scrimmage. Give him about 10-20 games against opponents that are really trying to stop him.
I'm not a Tebow fan. But comparing Jimmer to Tebow is just plain stupid. How many National Championships did Tebow win? How many did Jimmer win??
Jimmer has such great skill set it's hard to see him not being at least somewhat successful in the NBA. If he can get a good feel on when to shoot and when to create an assist off his offensive threat, he could be really good. Reminds me of Stephen Curry.
