I personally doubt Jim Buss really saw Jordan as much as even us fans did in Houston much less the coaches & front office.

Its not about development. We all know that, and if Buss really knew what Jordan's issues are he wouldnt have said that. Its about his focus and energy level which he does not bring but once every 4 or 5 games.

I like Jordan and I really wouldn't mind if the Rockets picked him back up this summer, but there is no way he warrants a 5 million dollar investment next season for a rebuilding team.

Hey Jim how does it feel with that premature gloating now? You still enjoying that Jordan Hill goodness? Well good luck with that.

    Sucker.:p

Jordan Hill grabbed 10 rebs again tonight.
I hate to say this, but it looks like we missed another star.

Don't get all excited. He used to do some of the same things here in spurts.

He will do that when motivated. I guess some fans never will get certain things once they like certain players. Even if they see them do the same thing for the Rockets for years and then regress back to being their old inconsistent selves.

He's excited to be on the Lakers and in the postseason. There's always a post-trade honeymoon. He's doing what he's capable of when his head is in the game.

He was complacent with us, and that's why we had to trade him. It was never going to happen in Houston, not beyond 4-5 games a season.

Dalembert was the same way throughout his career.

It's not going to happen in Lakerland either. They're not going to re-sign him for big money. Can't afford to. And if they do, they will be the team making the mistake.

Whoever signs Hill for the MLE or higher will be making a mistake. He's a backup big in the NBA, realistically worth about $15-16 million on a 4-year deal at the most.

I dont think he will even get that much. I see him bouncing around for a couple years on teams like the Celtics that find him useful as an energy big off the bench. He's almost an exact Mikki Moore clone in more ways then one. I would be shocked if they resigned him in LA. Especially to a 4 year deal.

Based on all the news and his recent performance, it is almost certain that LA will resign him.

He might be able to pull a Kris Humphries 1-year deal deal from the Nets for big money, just as a placeholder for a season to get them to CBA required league minimum salary that would pay him big money.

Im not sure what news your watching that would make LA want to resign him. He's played pretty well for them in the past week, but lets not get carried away here. He was never in their long term plans when they traded for him.

It was only a fluke that he even got playing time. He never got a shot till a week ago. The Lakers are going to be over the cap next season and will not have the capspace to sign him for anything beyond the minimum. He's not going to be a Laker next year unless they make a major trade.

This is a pretty accurate assumption. This is a trend that I see being pretty common from now on in the NBA. Alot of players like Hill might see alot of bigger, but short term contracts frequently from now on. Nobody will be viewing him as a future "star" but alot of people will find his rebounding ability as a short term fix to plug a leak.

The Lakers were struggling all season to find a third BIG to provide rest for Bynum and Gasol and Jordan Hill so far seems to fit that bill.

They don't need him to be a prolific scorer or to produce on the offensive end as perhaps the Houston Rockets or their fan base expected.

The Lakers get plenty of that from Gasol and Bynum and one of the two of them will be out there with Hill when he's playing anyway.

What the Lakers need is a solid defender and rebounder who can run the floor for 10 -20 mins a game, block a shot or two and give the starters some rest.

Anything more than that is just gravy.
