If John Walker Lindh was fighting alongside Taliban and Al-Queda forces when he KNEW what had happened on September 11th, then he should be in Cuba, in a cage, not even in the United States. I think if he knew this then he should be treated worse than the guys in Cuba, after all many can claim a lifetime of being brainwashed by Wahhabism and the Taliban, and Afghanis and other Arabs don't know any better, but he truly should.

What will make me so incredibley upset, is if the media romanticizes him as a young boy cast into Osama Bin Laden's shadow and lied to and decieved to, while searching for himself.

Wow, sounds like a great book or movie Right?? Lets just have some film and book companies pay him a few million so he can tell his sad story about a youth confuzed about life, a modern day
Tom Sawyer, just going where the winds blew him to Afghanistan. If this guy is Guilty, and its an IF, then he should never see the light of day again.

You know the reason that guys like Osama Bin Laden think they can Beat the United States?? Because we are too comfortable in our superficial little liberal, tree hugging lives to make firm decisions and make sacrifices for a cause. Well this is an example and lets see our reaction. If this ends up like that Elian Gonzalez garbage, then i will be disgusted. The law is the law, the founding fathers created it to serve us, not feed political parties and PAC groups.

He trained in Osama's camps, and has claimed that he is Al Qaeda. He did not know about 9/11 specifically (only the top people knew the details), but he knew that Al Qaeda was sending terrorists to the US, and he knew they weren't coming here to get an education.

Conspiracy to commit murder (Mike Spann) is a slam dunk. The group he was with killed him plain and simple, and the malicious intent can be seen in his refusal to surrender (he was one of the last to surrender at Mazar).

Conspiracy to kill Americans is also a slam dunk because of the testimony he himself has given. He knew that his group was conspiring to commit terrorist acts against Americans and did nothing to prevent it. Again, he did not know about 9/11 specifically, but by his own admission he knew that attacks were in the pipeline.

Giving aid to a terrorist group - another slam dunk. Fighting w/ the Taliban and Al Qaeda against US forces... doesn't get any clearer.

There's one more which slips my mind right now, but I'm sure it's solid, too. There's a reason he's not being tried for treason - it is very difficult to prove. The prosecutors are going with what they are certain that they can make stick. He is 100% guilty of these charges, he just hasn't been found so by a court of law yet.

Oh, BTW - the hijackers all knew they were on a martyrdom mission in the US, they just didn't know the details. That's a nice thought (that they didn't know they were going to die), but it's not true.

he was part of a terrorist organization..that organization attacked the USS Cole and he told his father the US got what it deserved. that organization sent terrorists to the US to carry out attacks here. he fought with that organization. conspiracy is simple here.
