This just reminds me of something in my high school days. A guy was trying to say that he played chess with a female teacher. He ended up saying that he played with her chest. Anyways, DD the Cuddler would be an awesome nickname.
why did he keep shooting? because he had to! next to yao and tmac..the 3rd scorer was hard to come by. Sure, luther was the best but he also has his limitations in terms of ball handling. Battier? thats not his game. everyone on the rockets was worse in the playoffs, unfotunately. Yup, a lot of his 3pters are wide open. But he does shoot them at a good clip, and he will get plenty of them. So whats the downside? Why worry about him finishing a layup (really it was the floaters that sucked) when he can spot up on the outside...even if he doesnt shoot it you know he's going to make the smart pass most of the time. Which is more than you can say for MJ or francis or luther for that matter
no doubt. i cant, and wont defend the horrible fg%. Its ugly, its not good. But if he can shoot above 35% from 3 then he isnt completely worthless in terms of scoring. Teams will leave him open at at 35+%...i'll take that as a kickout option. and morey got did get 3 pgs for a reason. Because the rockets only had 1 that could contribute. Realistically, i dont think AB will get too much time...he's for the future. So looking at james and francis, well those guys are pgs, but they play more like SGs. having 2 "pgs" on the court at the same time this year shouldnt be too much of a surprise.
i thought rafer had a all around good year his shooting % has always been bad but he provided other things on the court
A LOT of it was Rafer's fault. If you don't see that, I guess you're happy with his 27.2% FG percentage. Box Score of Game 7 Guess who had the worst fg % in game 7?
Well, sadly, V-Span wound up being a wuss and jumped off the team without giving Rick Adelman a chance to see how he would be used, and how much. They only thing were happy about V-Span is that he enabled the Rockets to get Scola. Hollinger would point out that V-Span was misused by JVG.
this is true but who hit the three to tie the game up,who got three steals in a row in the 4th quarter
Who is the guy who coughed up the ball to Deron when the game was up for grabs? Let's stick with the category. I will take Choke Artists for $1000, Alex.
Head choked pure and simple. Rafer wasn't hitting shots all year and we still won 52 games with the injuries, and we still took a much more talented Jazz team to 7 games with him logging in 40+ minutes at PG. Anyone who watched the game with open eyes knows that not being able to contain Boozer killed us way more than anything.
Then you don't know enough about the game to have a competent argument about this topic. So then why did Morey say that Alston is the best defensive guard on the team? Probably says more about the lack of defense of the other guards.
And who's fault was that? None other than your beloved Jeff Van Dummy. Insanity by Definition is repeating the same mistakes over and over again and expecting different results.
Oddly enough 2 out of Boozer's 3 highest scoring games of the series, including a Boozer 41 point game, were Jazz losses (the win was game 7 so the statement does apply...) No one was really containing Deron Williams either. You can say Boozer's presence opened it up for Deron and players like Harpring and Millsap to have better scoring opportunities, which they happily took advantage of like they're supposed to... And THATS where the problem is. Mcgrady and Yao opens things up for...... Rafer Alston?? Battier the known NON-scorer, Chuck Hayes, and an erratic Luther Head? But wait...Rafer then becomes the playmaker thats just supposed to make it easier for McGrady and Yao, his role is now accepted that he's just a caretaker of the ball...Nope, he took on the role of 3rd scorer, therefore he better be a good one and he wasnt. He could have been a limited Battier and Hayes intangibles-only type but once he started taking a record number of 3 point launches he's crossed into scorer's territory, and is subject to the criteria that goes with it... Yeah if management let the roster be limited to Napolean Dynamite as the best point guard they're to be faulted. But you wouldnt just say we should have STOPPED Deron with Napolean on him cuz we're a defensive team. Like how Utah had their Boozer killing the Rox, counter with getting a killer of our own to beat them down. Its half Boozer and other half definitely lack of productive Rockets offense.
