Hmmm, since we're comparing JVG and Adelman we've already seen a difference in the offense between the two of them.

Another big difference is how the two coaches conduct practices. JVG believed in running drills from what I can tell from interviews from players. On the otherhand Adelman appears to favor running scrimmages and getting the guys to play alot and in different situations.

Definitely not totally ... but in my opinion it is the #1 factor, primarily because it was the only element of the Rockets that could have been modified beforehand and you knew, without a doubt, would hurt them if they didn't. And like clockwork: 33%, 32%, 50 threes hoisted, 44+ minutes per, vintage performance in Game 7.

It's hard to foresee T-Mac and Luther hitting 25-26% of their threes, or Yao Ming shooting 44% or Juwan Howard shooting 40%. They all share blame.

But Rafer? We knew that was coming. There was nothing at all surprising or shocking about Rafer's below average numbers on above average shooting when his normal average is already below average to begin with. His regular season averages told us. His career averages told us. His playoff averages told us. It was a slow pitch softball that everyone saw coming but somehow took 12 months to cross the Rockets plate.

No kidding, WTF is he talking about? I am fairly ticked off at the comment...it was uncalled for....and WAY WAY WAY over the line.

IMO, he should be banned.....not just for the lewd comment but for even starting JVG threads, he was justifiably fired, GOOD RIDDANCE.

How could they have modified it? It was shown time and time again that the Rockets offense operated the best with Rafer on the court. As frustrating as his play could be last year, he was far more effective as a PG than any of our other options. Are you just speculating that Lucas, or Head, or Spanoulis could have been "developed" into a more effective option for us, or is there a definite solution you had in mind?

If you read it in context, he meant "cuddling" in a parental way, not sexual way.

hard to bash rafer for getting 44 minutes, espcially considering what the alternative was. Would you really rather having jl3 or vspan out there?

but regardless of those 44 minutes, the rockets best player and supposed "leader" disappeared for the last 4 minutes of the game....

oh screw it...just blame rafer. he causes cancer too.

I don't think it is proper, or necessary, and I am highly offended by it. Van Gundier/Carl Herrera should be banned.

I think thats why Rafer is so high on everyone's list right now. He played so bad last season, that seeing him play well for these TWO games is like seeing a different player.

i thought he meant coddling. not cuddling. as in what some coaches do to players...and doesn't DaDakota coach a boys team?

dd...i think he merely took a shot at idea of coddling/pampering players.

But if you are still excessively offended, I'll cuddle you.

I am highly offended by his out of line comments. He should be banned again.

As for cuddling with you? Only if you wear your powder blue hat.

If you've read Clutch, you know he's thinking about the Juwan Howard-Mike James trade that didn't happen at the deadline.

Somehow I couldn't stop laughing at DD on this.

And it would be a scene if you cuddle him. :D

Where is BBall Scientist? I need that internet lawyer he was using.....

I may have to squeeze Van Gundier/Carl Herrera between my own personal virtual butt cheeks.

It took me awhile to process what Clutch was trying to say here. Granted, I have just woken up, but it gave my brain a little early morning exercise!

TRUE OR FALSE: Vasilis Spanoulis left the Rockets so he spend more time cuddling with DaDakota.
TRUE OR FALSE: Vasilis Spanoulis is 12 years old.

van gundier is right in that adelman will get away with saying things that van gundy couldn't. people(oldmanrock) were extremely sensitive about van gundy's comments, like the rockets were little children, but something tells me there won't be as much b****ing this time as long as we're winning. which is fine, anything to put a stop to it.

i do like jvg but he should be dropped as a subject so long as both sides agree to do so.

It was just a matter of time before people here found out that Adelman is not a soft touch. It's also just a matter of time before he clashes with a player or two on this team that will offend die-hard defenders of those players. Instead of V-Span and Bonzi it will be player X and player Y, or maybe just player X. The Adelman honeymoon on Clutchfans won't last the season. He isn't as irritating and grumpy as JVG, but many here will be disappointed by his demeanor and will gripe about it.
