Absolutely it was the right move not to make the trade and thank goodness JVG thought that way.

There is certainly a VERY.........an EXTREMELY die-hard group of fans tha loves James and absolutely LOATHES Alston but nonetheless they do not make any decisions for the team.

The people who do make the decisions definitely made the right one.

The Wolves wanted way too much for James and no way is he worth that.

On another note EVERYTHING that has come out about this just moreso proves what an idiot of a GM McHale is. Garnett is never winning anything in Minny.

I'm sorry but this makes no sense.

They need another PG but ealing off Juwan would have made the team worse overall. I know you love Hayes and hated Juwan forever but guess what?

I told you over and over that your stats were wrong and Howard was better and you would see it this year. I was attacked as having no knowledge of the game over and over yet look what happened.

You never make trades of that magnitude based on stats or we need another point guard.

You don't make this trade you probably lose in the 2nd round or conf finals, you make this trade you lose in the first round.

I agree with the decision to stand pat.

On a side your poll sucks.....lol
You cannot make a poll comparing the decision is good or bad from two people. Its either good job CD or what is CD's problem, or insert JVG for CD.

LOL... none of us make decisions for the team, but the ones who do again tried to get Mike James. I know it's hard to understand, I klnow it's hard to fit in to your past comments, but (gasp) .. they want him.

All that Mike James bashing you did, and then to have to deal with the Rockets heavy interest yesterday -- must have been tough.

What's funny Clutch, is that this is not over. The Rockets will probably pursue James agian in the offseason when the Wolves most likely blow up their team.

Yes, what happened? Hayes has been a solid rotation player for us, and typically at the end of games we've played best with him on the floor. I also expected Juwan to start and to get more minutes when Yao got injured, because he's a more potent and dependable scorer than Hayes. That's what has happened.

I've given credit numerous times for Juwan improving his play this season. That he's playing better this year doesn't prove the stats were wrong. That's like saying what he does this year erases what he did in previous years. Nonsense.

I don't believe I referenced any stats in my post. In fact, I explicitly said that comparing individual stats in this case isn't so important since they play such different roles.

We disagree, fine. I think it would improve our chances greatly to have a more dependable ball-handling, scoring point guard in the playoffs (Luther Head doesn't cut it). Mike James fits that bill well. Unfortunately, it's necessary to give up value to get value. Like I said, between now and when Yao comes back it may be a bit more of a struggle if we give away Juwan, but once we have Yao back I think the trade makes a lot of sense.

Again, I'm arguing purely from a basketbal lperspective, and not taking into account impact on chemistry which might be significant. Notice that it was the potential loss of "chemistry" that kept this trade from happening.

Hayes is a valuable bench player and our PF of the future, I would only give him up for something of proven equal or greater value.

As for Skip, Jho, and Luther... those guys are our guys man. How are you gonna get rid of them? Skip, for all the boneheaded stuff he does, I don't want anyone else at PG spot when it matters; Rafer can run an offense, pass, and hit a shot when it matters. Head is our clutch shooting 3point ace and Juwan is our veteran leader who can still score, rebound, and fill in the gaps. I want a good backup PG as much as the next guy, but I say we just get the best PG we can in round one and hope he or V-Span/JLIII develop into someone who can take over after Skip is gone.

Yeah that's why the Rox have repeatedly tried to get him as did any number of other teams.

Yeah....don't forget it also validates the Caldwell Jones-Moses Malone trade since we're making stuff up.
