Hey genius, you wanting Jalen to succeed isn't the issue. We all want that. It's the # of folks that actively want KPjr to FAIL...and doth protest daily, no matter what happens . This is about a small subset who is extremely vocal...part of a consistent negative vibe for years. I'm not talking about the naive young fans.
I like Iveys game alot. Wish he was more of a point than a combo guard. If you select Ivey what does that mean for KPJ? Kevin in his first full time season as PG is in the top 20 APG in the league. I feel he will only get better and better as a facilitator. He's shown to be a dynamic scorer too. Seems Ivey offers similar pro's that Scooter offers down to some measurables so there is considerable overlap. If the question is between Banchero and Ivey I could probably argue that Bancheros "guard skills" are better than Ivey at 6'10 especially court vision and subsequent passing ability. Ivey is not some defensive stopper by any means just like Paolo, both guys share assist numbers and 3 pt %. Paolo actually produced more points from his forward role (665) than Ivey did from his guard role (586). Not sure how to quantify transition data fully, but here it shows the Rockets sit around 13th when looking up "best transition teams in NBA" https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/transition/ -- maybe you could provide some personal context on this and how you view the dynamic of each guard in this department and what would make Ivey a big enough upgrade over Kevin that you would be willing to tear it down after just one year. Paolo would make everyone's job easier. I think he is fully satisfied playing facilitator and he doesnt NEED the ball in his hands to be effective. His coffin corner 3% is great and when necessary he can run point forward and prefers to play facing the basket. A good thing when Sengun prefers to play back to the basket. I'd be fine with any of the top 4 guys in this draft, just would really prefer to start adding some size to this roster. There is even a world where I could see Paolo playing the 3, Sengun the 4 and finding a bonafide rim protector to play with both of them.
none of those posts were even Bobby’s…he’s been dealt with enough those are from the semen sipper and Downtownsniper who’s been MIA since Jalen Green started ballin…they were vocal as hell when Green wasn’t playing well tho actively rooting against him and we’re not gonna start remixing hate posts as just trolling…what we witnessed on here before Green started playing well wasn’t just trolling, it was pure hate and finding glee in his struggles but there were many more from a wide variety of posters right after the Dunk Contest ranging from calling him low IQ, dumb as a bag of rocks, a bust, etc and let’s also not forget how people would constantly trash Green in threads or topics that had nothing to even do with him…u could be in the DISH game thread talking about how someone on another team isn’t playing well, and here they’d come bringing up Jalen Green to trash him
This poster honestly seems to think only a few "Trolls" were hating/trolling on Green. Refuses to believe folks actually just didn't like green for stupid reasons, one of them being green getting drafted by us and not Mobley
To be fair, there isn't much else to cheer for this year. Things that I have been cheering for are Green Senguin Jc/kmj Kpj though this one has been harder bc I don't think he can be a starting pg for this team to be the best he can be I mean who else do you root for , wood? Gordon? Matthews? Silas? Wall?
If you are a Rox fan you cheer for all the Rockets......if you have trouble cheering for a player, you are not a Rocket's fan, you are an "only" fan. DD
I believe in Porter Jr as well. Some people hold his past against him and will always hold his past against him. I've worked with troubled kids between the ages of 12 to 18 years of age. So I'm a little more understanding. I believe Patrick Fertitta is going for, "The everyone is a PG" regardless of height. So if Garuba is on the court with Porter/Green/Chet/Sengun then we have 4 PG's with one center. ________________________ Porter/Green/Ivey would all share the ball and instead of two dueling banjos it would be three dueling banjos. Hope is : Kobe 4.7 ast avg for career at a 24.2% assist% MJ 5.3 ast avg for career at a 24.9% assist% Iverson 6.2 ast avg for career at a 28.8% assist% Marbury 7.6 ast avg for career at a 36.1% assist% Porter jr 6.2 Ast avg for 21/22 at a 31.1% assist%.....(31.3% assist% 20/21) So with everyone sharing the ball, it takes the place of one good Stockton or one CP3 P.S. I question the defensive end with both Sengun and Banchero on the court at the same time. Sengun has been working on foot speed; but I need to see Banchero combine numbers in drills. May only work defensively as a zone with both those two on defense. Sengun/Banchero front court may be the slowest in the league. Kinda need to offset that with a Jerami Grant or Nerlens Noel. @D-rock
Sorry, but I gotta cook you real quick. To be completely transparent, it wasn't that long ago. You were still advocating for Ivey over Green just a month ago, but I think you had gotten to the point where you had just given up on the idea that he'd be moved. I recall asking you why you thought Ivey was a better prospect even after witnessing Green turning things around in the month of February. March 2nd March 3rd March 4th March 6th
To your credit, you don't always get married to ideas and stick with them come hell or high water. It is healthy to be able to evaluate and reevaluate. I kind of get the feeling you still think Ivey is going to be better than Green for some reason. I'm assuming it's related to what you perceive his defensive potential is even though his defense is also shaky despite his length and he'll never be in Jalen's league offensively from what I can see. Well, I shouldn't say never, but it's highly unlikely. Anybody that frequents the bbs knows that I love Ivey, but as I've pointed out, I just think Ivey and JG are vastly different players once you get past them both being fast and them both being highlight dunkers. The similarities end there for me so I'd rather not even compare them to each other. I see a strong backcourt of the future and them playing off one another's strengths and covering some weaknesses. So I don't blame you if you think Ivey can be better, you have backed off the idea of trading Green for guys like AJ Griffin and Jaden Hardy instead of continuing to push that. That's respectable.
It's so incredible that this inflammation of hatred is happening with Green on a historic streak that is actually impacting the net differential so much they had to sit the vets. He almost broke the tank. Now they're going to say we're making that up too.
I've been warming up to Banchero. Y'all are wearing me down a little. I still would rather have Ivey. You question what drafting Ivey means for KPJ, but I question what drafting Banchero potentially means for Sengun. I can at least envision KPJ at SF for a season or 2.
I stand by that statement, he was awful to watch that day while Mobley shined. I'm still tired of JGOF's that take criticism of JG as a personal affront when he had yet to show improvement to his game. I'm happy to report JG has been doing well for our Rockets since the awful All Star showing debacle. However, his fans are approaching Lin Only Fans level of irrationality as all he has really led us to this season is the worst record in the league. I'm glad he plays for us but I remain a Rockets fan first and foremost, not just a player only fan that while highly promising, he is not there yet.
I couldn't imagine spending any of my Rocket fan energy having an agenda against our #2 overall pick. Why???
